Builds will be nerfed earlier

Nerfs to OP builds in the 1st week.

Good. That’s when that should happen.

And they should nerf them more…

If it’s broken, fix it asap before players invest too much time into it.

Says they want to change their philosophy on balance.

They would have to have one first before they can change it.

About time. Broken builds dominating overworld play has been incredibly annoying.

If you’re mad about this, you’ll still be mad when the non-broken builds do the exact same.

For example - Do you think Charge is broken? My Barb uses Charge (because I enjoy it) and can clear Pit 118 with it now. Zero Mythics. Is it broken? Because T4 is simply constant Charge and Clear.

This is an lol post… they can’t find in their own code how broken stuff is until players find a skill producing mass damage ( I.E. Bloodwave) and honestly what was wrong with that build? Wasn’t the same as the 1 shot rogue from way back and not the same as spiritborn… Barbs are getting hit pretty hard unless you go with what they want you playing like mighty throw / steel grasp builds and that is all they are doing… way too much focus around seasonal powers as well which is why some builds suck unless your into doing seasons.

Just balance the game is all that needs to be done… IMO this game decently balanced at launch… but the re inventing the wheel to “FIX” stuff is breaking the game more.

You’d sorta hope that “early in the process” means before it leaves the PTR.

I can’t post links, but just pretend you’re seeing my side-eye.

Fun will be nerfed earlier.

D4 is a copy/paste of D3. There is original code but they never started from scratch on D4. This is why there is so many bugs/broken builds and they cant keep up with fixing the old code.

Off topic but reason i play Black Flag from Assassins Creed franchise is that it is polished and all original code. If you design a game from scratch, yes there will be patches/fixes but its very manageable.

Sounds good to me as long as normal builds don’t get caught in the crossfire.

Some companies do this progressive thing called “testing” :hamster:

They said this in the last campfire. We’ve known this for a while now.

Nope. There’s an expected level of performance from builds at different difficulty levels. Playing at T3 or below, I expect most builds will be clearing overworld areas at roughly the same pace as mine. It’s zero fun watch the flavor of the season clearing the entire Helltide in the time it takes me to clear a mob.

I expect T4 to have some wide variance in clear time. Which is fine. By the time I hit T4, I’m usually done with public events by the time I hit T4, so don’t care if someone is running through overworld deleting everything in a 4.3 km radius in .0001 seconds.

It was on of the Joe’s that said they wanted people to have fun with op builds… Another back peddle or lie from blizzard. Not surprised.

There’s a difference between a meta OP build and something horribly busted.

We’ll see what actually happens, though. We have over and a year and a half of evidence that even when they wait they don’t do this right, so knee-jerk reactions based on a week or two of gameplay anecdotes is probably going to be worse.

You’ll still be OP, you just may not be OP on T4.

Dont nerf poo poo wave. Its 1 click braindead gameplay

Get the devs take on it in the 2.2.0 PTR campfire @ ~ 31:30.
