Build loadouts and free respecs or I quit

Hell, we had this is Diablo 3. Super weird it’s not included here.

“or I quit” was a bit over the top drama, but you make a good point.

Unless that is how he actually feels and he means it. Then it’s just being honest. Which is good. Assume the devs are big boys and can translate it and do what they want with it…

There is a reason things exist in communication and a reason people use them. Just give people the benefit of the doubt and assume there is a reason they say what they say.

People don’t lie intuitively. If they were not being honest it would be obvious. And you are always at a loss naturally to understand why a person feels the way they feel. This used to be common sense in communication. It’s called respecting another person opinion. Always assume a person is correct in the way they feel. 1st person perspective always outdoes 3rd person perspective in that regard… I shouldn’t even have to say this.

time to reroll char then

Gold is easy to farm.

The larger issue is that a few years back the game lead said they wanted to make respecing very expensive such that you might just roll another character instead.

That person quit or got fired.

New game lead did not connect the dots with the new philosophy of “ok respec paragon boards”. That’s why we don’t have a button to respec all boards or even individual boards. That’s why this game will fail. No continuity of design vision since the D4 team has had such massive turnover.

Exactly this.

You can tell when someone hasn’t actually played the game. It’s like dude… yes… grind gold… but when that becomes such an obstacle that it’s unfun it kills the vibe.

And no one should want to kill the vibe.

K bye bye than… have a good time

  1. Loadouts, YES PLEASE!

  2. Please add a clear all for the paragon board. Maybe I’m horribly blind and missed this, but it does seem like a super weird overlook on their part.

  3. Cost should be nerfed a bit. It’s counter-intuitive design on their end to have a game that’s brimming with respec-friendly systems, like finally getting that one unique that unlocks a more powerful build (valid for all classes), but also punish respecs. If they add sets, this will be even more relevant.

I agree with the request for loadouts and free Respec, or nerfing gold costs by >50% across the board. I’ve been 100 for weeks, I still play and I’m impressed with the launch overall.

The balance between time spent acquiring resources, and spending those resources to play the game in the way I want - is off. Trying a new build is 3 hours of gold farming just to change skills and paragon. At 20mil gold per piece at the enchanter, that’s another 24 hours of gold farming for new gear.

I am down for repetitive gameplay, but I’d have a better experience if I could try builds without a full time work week of investment, and I may not even like it.

Nightmare dungeon keys suffer from the same issue. It took 3 hours of efficient farming to craft the tier 88 NM key I beat solo. I didn’t even need a specific tier. I’ve put more than double that into crafting tier 100 keys with nothing usable. I imagine it’s going to take 20-40 hours to craft a usable 100 key. Random 10 level range and no ability to reroll with materials are the cause.

Are you kidding me!? When did this happen?!

Does the “lower the cost” crowd understand that you don’t earn interest on gold in this game? What are you all planning on doing with the billions of gold you’ll have if this and rerolls get cheaper? I’m just over here impressed that blizzard managed to get gold to actually matter.

This game is terribly designed. It’s baffling. But, yeah, it really does need loadouts. Why bother charging for paragon points? That’s stupid. You should just be able to switch builds.

Who cares when it interferes with major life of quality? I’m sure the higher gems won’t be cheap and sink gold.

It’s warlord, but I’m sure you prefer it your way.

Anyway, no refund-all on a paragon board is a QoL issue due to objectively bad UI. Having it cost gold is in-game resource management; remove the meaningful gold sinks and you may as well remove gold from the game.

Maybe they should let us craft items for gold then. That’s a better sink. They could also just lower gold drops. Then we can have different builds and load stuff out. You’d have to sink more money in with the different items you’d require for each build anyway. Looks like bad design to me.

So long, farewell !!!

As someone who’s played a lot (100 for weeks, done tier 88 solo), the gold costs are too high. I don’t want everything to be free, there should be a balance. The balance between acquiring resources, and spending them is way off right now. 50 million is rarely enough gold to reroll 1 piece of gear. I’ve bricked more items than I can count after 50 million spent and no dice. That’s 7-8 hours of gold farming. Burning 8 hours of play on a good piece and essentially bricking it at the enchanter feels crappy.

The respec costs are a drop in the bucket so to speak. It could be free to respec skills and paragon and that would eliminate max 1/10th the cost of changing to a new build.

If they nerfed all gold costs by 50% since launch I would probably still be out of gold right now, with a bunch of incredible pieces in my stash up to 7mil per enchant.

I know what the possible rolls are, have a rough idea of the weights, so I’m not rolling on bad odds like +skill on amulet or gloves, usually pretty safe choices. Crit chance is the only cheap roll I can get perfect most of the time for under 10 mil.

Honestly the game doesnt have ANY QoL feature. Anything. Not even one. It doesnt have social tools aswell, no surprise you have to manually remove paragon points, which btw is absurdly stupid.

Unfinished product and we are the beta testers. Then blizzard will say they listened to feedback and add QoL stuff that should be on release and the whiteknights will go hey here you go are you happy?

Bullpoop!
Sry to say it that clear… Respecc isnt financed by a single dungeon worth items that one sells to a vendor. Gold is the limiter in this game as of now.
Every Item my Char wears costs at least 2.000.000 Gold for 1 try… . You show me how u gain that in a single dungeon. Buddy of mine just drowned 35 Mill. Gold by rolling a Amulett just yesterday which in the End upgraded so badly (+1 so a skill stayed +1) so he had to dump it in the end. OFC he was not amused and told me quite a bit how easy he farmed that gold w his lvl 100 wwbarb and how much he likes this specific part of the game

What do you do in the game? How often are you doing a full respec? Do you not plan anything? Do you only run a dungeon or two? The biggest part of this game is running dungeons and nightmare dungeons.

The argument isn’t gold shouldn’t matter at all. It’s about balance. 50-100 million gold to enchant one piece of gear takes 8-16 hours of gold farming at peak efficiency. If you use 8 rare pieces that’s 64-128 hours. What if you want to try a different set of affixes on your gear? Or change builds? You might not even get the roll after 100mil. I consider an item bricked if it takes more than 1 hour (7mil gold) to click once at the enchanter.

I think it’s out of balance right now. A 50% nerf to enchanting costs would be a good start. A reroll cost cap could do the same thing. Free respec would eliminate a tiny fraction of the cost of changing builds, and help players experiment more freely, which is fun. It shouldn’t take 30 hours of gold farming to try a different build for fun, which is a conservative estimate of 20mil per piece and current respec costs.
