Build Challenge | Developing a true Barb gameplay build | no Uniques allowed

As title says, I am looking forward to play something that resembles a true barbarian in combat, leaping into the midst of battle, smashing skulls, feeling enemies subside under the weight of brute force, splash their blood across the board … you get the point.

I don’t want to play a magical tornado dancerina of any sorts.

I also don’t care about Mythic Uniques because I am not a 24/7 digital creature.

This is what I am looking for,

  • close combat skills
  • the least possible magical gimmicks
  • no uniques in build
  • easy to assemble gearwise
  • retain progression margin for reasonable clearing lvls

If such approach echoes within your game,
we can use this thread to share ideas and come up with a community build of sorts.

Starting next season, I will resume game and perhaps start some Leap-Upheaval or Leap-HotA experiments.

Feel free to share ideas, and above all, enjoy the game for the sake of having a good time.

First off: How high in the Pit are you planning to achieve?
Second: What paragon level do you want to get to first before heavily investing in the build?
Third: Coop or solo?

Hi boltbane,
allow me a quick disclaimer regarding your questions.

Please take in consideration that I have skipped the most of season 5 and haven’t participated in PTR.

  1. Minimum difficulty intended T2, or its Pit equivalent

  2. Minimum paragon = the equivalent of a current lvl 100 character
2.01 > start with a legendary aspect build only
2.02 > then move to incorporate unique items

  3. Solo

From the PTR, Torment 2 felt like current Inferanl Horde 4. Level 140 monsters. Current level 100 character had 200 paragon points.
Hammer of the Ancient or Double Swing will work here. But the issue is Fury generation without uniques. So Leap with Giant Stride and Perpetual Stomp can solve Fury issue. The issue is most people can’t enjoy the Leap generator playstyle.
