I’ve been attempting a bleed build this season after getting some cool items for it. I’ve been looking for ways to scale the damage higher, and ultimately the best way to scale bleed is via duration. I put on Wanton Rupture, which works as expected, on a 1h/glove/ring, but instead of getting the expected behavior from putting the aspect on an amulet or a 2h weapon, it’s the opposite. The duration increase gets shorter instead of longer (from 60% down to 40% and 30% respectively). Hopefully this can be fixed and maybe this build will actually be able to do Pit 100 on it’s own for once.
Even planning tools have it incorrect. Check out Maxroll Build Planner. Putting it on 2H has Base Value.
Interesting I didn’t even notice on maxroll ![]()
Yeah I was theorycrafting for a Shattered Vow Rend build this Season and noticed when you put the Aspect on a 2H, its value is Base. The Amulet was increasing it by 50%. All other Offensive Slots were Base value.
Thinking it just an issue with Maxroll, I started building in game and noticed it is actually worse in game where Amulet reduces the Base Value by 50% and 2H reduces the value by 100%, or in essence to the OPs point, EXACTLY the opposite of how the Aspect should work. This SHOULD be a Hotfix, but I highly doubt it will even be acknowledged or addressed this Season or the next. We need Rob to make a video so Blizzard actually pays attention.
I just cleared pit 95 with my flay barb with 3 minutes left and glyphs at 96…… might be able to do pit 100!
Nice! Maybe I just made the wrong choice of bleed source idk, I wanted to take advantage of the Chainscourged Mail and Ring of the Ravenous so scaled Rend as far as I could. Even with my Glyphs at 100, I can’t kill enemies in a T100 pit, except the boss weirdly enough, and I even can bleed world bosses fully before they reach half health but you can’t Execute them with the Shattered Vow effect and can’t pop them with Rupture. 177sec bleed duration per rend stack. My Sanctifications aren’t that great aside from +50IQ on my Shattered Vow and having Shattered Vow sanctified on my Heir of Perdition. I know a grandfather sanct would be huge, same with +skills on jewelery, and core skills on gloves and amulet.
Here is something that sucks:
- Rend from Ring of Ravenous does not snapshot properly. Not only does it not benefit from Enhanced Rend or the Upgrades, it also does not benefit from a whole host of multiplicative buckets since you are not casting it.
If you want to make a Brawling Bleed build viable, you have to get really lucky with Sanctifications. You need Veteran Brawler/Encroaching on one 2H and Earthquake/Berserk Ripping on the other.
You can forgo having to build for Bleed and instead build for DD as you are converting to Bleed. It is VERY good, but takes a ton of gear and luck.
Yeah I’m aware of the unfortunate lack of proper interaction with the Rend from Ring of the Ravenous. I do still have Rend on the bar to cast as needed but it’s still enough to auto pop trash as I leap around compared to Leap on it’s own. Sanctifications could push the build much further, along with if the Wanton Rupture aspect were fixed to be better on 2h weapons. Also have it set up where Leap is my resource generator to keep Ramaladni’s and Rend fed. The build is great as is for speed farming Pit 75 or below equivalent content, like Undercity for example. But could be much better. Side note it is super visually and audibly satisfying watching enemies explode from Gushing Wounds pops as I leap around with this build.
Is this all still bugged? Or just a visual issue now? I’m attempting a bleed build but don’t want to go into it if unique rings and such are still bugged.
It is bugged. Blizzard really listens and cares about the Community.
Rupture is very tempting to use because it “converts” your bleeding dmg., into kinda “instant kill HotA-like”, triggered billions even trillions. But it ruins your bleeding dmg., per tick. Bleed is the most challenging build to use. It has quiet small AoE, even no AoE at all in comparison to other DoT based builds of other classes. To buff your durations, there is a few sets up, you don’t need to use WR. With a proper set up, bleed dmg., based build should be able to farm on 95 - 99 quiet easily even in Eternal Realm. In Seasonal, with all those sanctifications bonuses, you should be able to clear 105 up. It esp., powerful for one on one against any target because the chance it being missed-hit is almost zero. I think any builds that clear 100 is considered S.
gg.
You can take any build in the Season and get to 100+ with Sanctifications.
Rupture is weird because the damage scales solely off Strength. Bleed Duration also increases its damage exponentially. Ranks don’t matter which is good and bad. It is bad because a lot of your items are going to have +Core Skills which, with Third Blade it is.
You can permanently have the bonus from Encroaching Wrath up, but since you want to use GW, Unbridled is off the table. Taking Lucions will get you pretty close but now you cannot use Starless Skies.
There really are not any good (current) guides for Rupture since it has made so many changes, but I was able to hit 120 with really good Sancs this Season. I assume it will plummet next Season though, even with the Paragon changes.
