There is currently a very annoying but that it going on with the enchanter. After extensive testing, it seems to be particularly tied to weapons.
If you look a weapon type on another character, even if its useable by another class, the game prevents you from using it.
For example: I looted a ancestral polearm on my Spiritborn, and wanted to use it on my Barb. Even though I changed the aspect to a neutral aspect that both classes can use, the enchanter will not let me roll of Dex to Strength on the Polearm. I spent millions of gold re-rolling to test this, and tested it with multiple weapon types and items. The bug simply prevents you from being able to use the weapon by preventing you from re-rolling the stat. The item is also not equip-able.
Please fix this bug ASAP, as it is extremely frustrating for anyone who is looking to play multiple characters.
I could be wrong, but I dont believe ancestrals that are specific to a class have ever been usable by other classes.
Nope, Ancestral items are useable amongst multiple classes as long as they are the correct item/weapon type. So for example, an Ancestral Polearm that a Spiritborn uses should be useable by a Barbarian, because they share the polearm weapon type. A glaive would not be useable, because that is Spirit born specific.
For no reason at all, this morning I tried another Ancestral Polearm that I looted on my SB, and after like 10 re-rolls, I was randomly given the Strength affix and was able to use the polearm on my Barbarian. So it is most definitely an bug.

Everything is class specific at the moment which I believe is a bug.
In the past it used to just be some, like pants. But now, even ring, amulet is also locked. Basically if you run 2 classes = no gear sharing at all.

You’re misinformed.
That text goes away as soon as you change the aspect on it, unless its a weapon type that is not useable by your class. In the case of polearms, both Spiritborn and Barbarian share that weapon type. Its no different that Rogues and Barbs sharing swords. In the past, you have ALWAYS been able to use swords looted on a Rogue on your Barb, as long as you changed the aspect and rolled off the Dex to Strength.
not every polearm is going to not be class specific to spiritborn. ever notice how some pants or chest pieces end up being class specific? not every piece of gear is interchangeable between classes. i found that out a while back when i wanted to use a pair of pants on my rogue i found on my druid. ended up being druid only pants
Yes, this definitely a bug! Really annoying bug for anyone trying to play multiple toons.
Im aware that multiple classes can use the same weapon, but if I temper a sword for my barb could my necro change the temper and still use it before this season? Honest question because I rarely swapped anything between my characters except uniques.
It’s not a bug, it’s a feature, as they say…to keep you farming the grind longer.
My experience tho is that after taking off the class-specific legendary aspect as well as enchanting the class specific stat to something else, it is usable by another class.
