Currently Death Trap has both Ultimate and Core tags when having Scoundrel’s Leathers unique equipped. However, deathtrap does not consume energy as Core skill should with Beastfall Boots equipped.
I was about to post this same bug. Scoundrel’s Leathers are Rogue unique armor that tag all trap skills as “core” and the Beastfall Boots are supposed to cause the next ‘core’ skill cast after casting an ultimate to consume all energy for a damage boost.
So the way it should work is, after casting Death Trap (an ultimate tagged as ‘core’ due to the armor), your next cast of Death Trap should consume energy for a damage boost if you don’t use any actual core skills in-between.
But it does not work. The boots only appear to work with non-cooldown core skills, but do not say that.
I reported this in-game also.
To be honest, if Death trap is a CORE skill with Scoundrel’s leather, I was REALLY hoping that death trap would spend your energy (as a core) to reduce it’s own cooldown, then fill your energy (as an ultimate skill with Preparation).
I was kinda dissapointed. Since Preparation is focused around core and ultimate skills, I think it would be awesome if skills that have both tags fill both parts of it. I know that part isn’t a bug, but the beastfall’s ceasing to work really killed the build for me on PTR.
