Broke up with Barb, Necro is my new friend

I thought I was having fun with my Whirlwind Barbarian, until I made a Necromancer. By Sunday night, I was rocking 7 Skeletal Warriors, 5 Mages, and my Golem. Collectively, it was like having a Barbarian along, except they didn’t get loot drops.

I wasn’t lucky enough to get the famous Blood Mist/Corpse Explosion Aspect, so I was just playing some silly Decompose, Blood Nova, and minions build. I might retire the Blood Nova for something else, as once I learned to Taunt with my Golem, I was no longer getting surrounded.

Suggestions: If we’re going to pay all that money to Extract an Aspect, can we automatically have it be added to our Codex of Power? And considering that rare and legendary drops will go back down to normal for release, I can see a situation where the one rare or legendary you do get is going to be kept for multiple levels. Even now, I’m still wearing gear from level 3! Can we drastically slash Blacksmith upgrade costs and remove the limit on how many times we can upgrade?

I think the goal here is for it to be easy to get weaker aspects through the Codex, but the strongest versions are from drops/aspect extraction. I like that idea, you can target specific dungeons to get your build going but still see growth from items.

Costs did seem a little high in the beta, but by level 25 I was getting quite a bit more gold than at level 1. It will continue to scale up. There will be less incentive to min/max our characters and spend all this gold when we aren’t limited to level 25 and continue to receive new gear.

I would appreciate a citation for that. I do NOT like that idea, as I forsee a situation where you get the Aspect, you Extract it, Imprint it on an item, later on find an upgrade, have to pay to Extract it again, pay again to Imprint… Over the course of 50 levels, how much money will you sink when you can just pay to Imprint, and your old gear can be Salvaged to improve your new item?

I don’t think you can extract something twice. If you extract it and use it, that item can’t be extracted anymore. Atleast, I think that is how it works, lol. I’m not sure I actually tried to extract something twice, but I don’t think you can. You have to get another drop with the same aspect.

I don’t think they intend on players putting a legendary affix on every piece of gear they find for all 100 levels. It seems a little ridiculous to expect them to support that.

Personally I’ll aim for the weapon/amulet affixes as I level, they provide the most bang for your buck.

OR, and stop me if you’ve heard this before, they could just copypasta the Artisan crafting system from D3…

Given the absolutely insane power creep we’re already seeing in this game, I wouldn’t be surprised if gold creep is also present and we’re making millions on accident.

When barbs a juggernaut and you dump your new friend he’s not going to take you back as a friend :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Yep Necro is the best class. It just is.

I heard from a Rogue friend that Juggernauts are weak to Lightning damage. XD

Yes necro is the best class based off a beta with a level 25 cap, classes missing techniques and what not.

No one seems to bring up that barb can have more aspects than any other class.

Hopefully you decide to play it because you like it not because it’s stupid op. the game balance will be an ongoing thing.

Werewolf druid may not be the strongest but i enjoyed playing it. that is what i’m starting with.

I’ve heard Necro does the most DPS even at max level. Barb may surprise though because it does have more damage multiplier opportunities.

I think all classes will be fairly good at end game, with some excelling in areas that others don’t vice versa.

They will all be viable, yeah. Some will prob do more DPS though.

Launch Week: Lots or Sorcs and Necros
Week After: Where did all of these Barbs come from

I can see this happening XD.
At release i’m making Necro as my main to get all the statues and account unlocks, after that are the other classes.
