Bricking - necessary to keep stash reasonable

Dear players,

I find bricking a necessary evil in the setting of our stash space. I’ve played over the last week and noticed that unlike prior to the patch where I would collect a bunch of gear and then roll everything at once, has changed to tempering and seeing if I brick and then go to the next piece of gear.

So I do not have accumulation of gear.

I think that if you have an exceptional piece of gear that has stay greater affixes, either we should have the option of sacrificing a random greater affix for a reset on temper or spend a spark to reset tempers.

If you are willing to sac a uber unique for a temper reset, it better be worthwhile.

Thanks

There is no such thing as bricking in D4.

There is if you use the definition everyone else is.

So, use it wrong in other words?

Nah.

How do you feel about the word “free” when it comes to the battle pass

I really disagree on the latter. Blizzard Power Creep™ will make you drown in Sparks soon enough.

But yes, stuff like sacrificing a greater affix on an item, that is the right way to handle costs IF it should be possible to increase the limit.
That way the item wont be “perfect” anymore, so it is a much more reasonable cost, that actually matters.
Unlike Sparks or any other material people can think of.

I guess you are right about the slippery slope we have with ubers. i’m not sure what the drop rate is now, but if it is tangibly higher than it was before then I agree with you.

Fits for the free version.

You confused?

The bait threads are out.

Haha don’t think too hard about it. We know why he asked :rofl:

Sounds like you’ll be in a circle of friends and people who just pat you on the back and agree with you then. Enjoy.

I eventually take everyone off ignore, even trolls, as people change over time.

I think you should get 4 chances, but if you roll, the existing option become unavailable.

I get the change limit, and I would be ok with a low roll on the affix I needed, when you don’t even get the opportunity for the one you need, I feel that is broken. Once chance at each possible Affix could still result in a poor roll, but not trash the whole item.

I havent found the drop rates on greater affixes high enough to flood my inventory.

I originally had been saving a bunch of stuff but now realize that all base gear is so easy to use. So i dont hold any unless its a hard roll to get, 3 rank gloves basically.

I think 2 rank amulets are the other harder gear for me to hold onto.

But i just generally temper them immediately when the opportunity arrives and destroy them if “bricked.”

Lol man, my stash is full but i havent had to mule…yet. i also have a bunch of gg legacy gear that is part of the problem that im salvaging as i get replacements.

But I was able to gear out a werewolf nado build in an afternoon albeit not the highest rolls, and just masterworked them to 4/12. (exluding the uniques which I still have to refarm).

Now just waiting for decent GA’s to drop to upgrade out of what I have.

@macro - duriel rotations? I got some mats I can throw in.

Noticed we used to hoarde yellow items with the right affixes now it is legos 3

You still have a usable piece of gear, just not an optimal one. Real bricking the gear is destroyed, often violently, like a small explosion and the slot is empty. That’s how it used to be done in the days of old. No mercy. People would lose their minds today. Some games made you pay real money for items that would increase chance of upgrade to prevent bricking. A perfect piece of gear fully upgraded could cost hundreds of dollars in mats sold by the creators. It’s why I chuckle when I see people call D4 pay to win because of cosmetics.

This is too good. Not sure if we’ll ever see him again.

I’m not such a min maxer that I can’t just temper an item five times and then not live with the result, at least assuming the other stats are still good. That said I find it a bit expensive for leveling gear, I put it on all my sacred stuff to try to push to torment four but I probably won’t continue to do it all that much until I hit somewhat of a plateau.

Not sure if that’s the intention or it’s just that stupid expensive. I think I spent over a million getting things merely okay and that was kind of sticker shock.

If I can move forward without it I will but it’s hard to say no to potentially 100% extra damage. Guess I better start selling literally everything I find.

Yes, it’s not destroyed per se, but it is functionally potentially unusable relative to a new piece with the right tempers.

But, you could get a “usable” piece of gear that surpasses other gear if it’s not the BIS roll.

For all intents and purposes, I am using the current connotatively understood reference of what bricking is relative to temper.
