Boy, do I hate D4

I know that this is just going to end up in a big pile-on from the horde of stans, so I’ll be brief. I loved D2. I was promised an experience like that, and that D4 would move away from D3 and move back to the series roots. I bought the game with this in mind. This is not what I received. I am sorely disappointed. I wanted to get a refund, but because I have heart problems and have been in and out of the hospital for the past month, I couldn’t actually play the game until yesterday, and their system automatically rejects any refund requests past two weeks. This entire thing has just been a miserable disappointment for me.

Try PoE if you haven’t already, at least you can try it for free

I don’t think we have the full game yet. They have a ton of stuff already to go that they are going to dribble out in the season’s. That’s why the game feels like it does half of it is missing.

Stop defending an unfinished lazily released product. Are you really that obtuse?

People are allowed to think what they want, just as you are. I am on the hype train of once seasons start things will even out some more.

Games fine for me. But thats just my opinion.

Then that’s when they should have started selling the game

Maybe, maybe not. I’m no DEV. We’ll find out.

You’re a consumer. don’t you want a finished product when you pay $70 for it? why are your standards so low?

the product felt finished for me for the time being. I had plenty of time to unlock everything and level up, and enjoyed a nice campaign with some small end game features. I got my moneys worth imo and the seasons starting just will add to it for years to come.

Weird that you’re ok with this beta release but whatever

im casual gamer at best so thats probably why. dont get me wrong some stuff is annoying but i dont care as mch i guess idk.

These are AAA games. Finished products do not exist. Even consoles get a damn day one patch, and even after they are rarely “complete”.

Sad thing is, game companies are not completely at fault. People keep pre-purchasing.

Yes. It was written on the forum somewhere. Half the game, 6 unique items and 7 aspects to be exact. Here is the second half of the game.
I wonder how long it will take to call it a game with a dead service?

The fact is that they sold this game not as an unfinished product, but as a live service.
LMAO do you really think that adding 6(!) uniques and old d3 system is it like a live service for 100 bucks? Laughable. Stop defending this crap.
Game was released in awfull state, live service is even more garbage than state of the game.

The sad thing is this is the AAA game scene now. AAA games before live service were complete games. However, Companies prefer profit over providing quality entertainment anymore. I feel bad for the dev teams as it is the executive level staff that are harming the gaming industry.

Why is that the expectation though? Has the gaming industry changed so much in 20-30 years that this is what we’re expecting? That’s sad.

There was a time when games released without a patch - and they were complete. Yeah that sounds like grandpa speak, but I mean dang…

Edit: I recall buying Hogwart’s Legacy (AAA game) on day one and never had a complaint. I ran into maybe 3 bugs and they were tolerable and later patched. So I can’t say that for me that’s the expectation of a game. It’s games like CP2077 and this that make me think that some just accept it and that really is a sad state of affairs.

Was it the legendaries that rain from the sky? Or the itemization? Or just a lot of the game in general?

Also, I hope you feel better and heal quick! Wish you the best stranger

While I may not agree with it, it is just simply the way it is now. Been this way since who knows how long. D3 was like this, Destiny 1 & 2, Division, BDO, PoE, AoC, basically any online RPG in the past 12 years. Everyone is using the live service model now.

D4 has a 10 year minimum lifespan, why would they release it all right away?

I don’t understand how people are still shocked by this.
