I know if you bought D4 on BNet and wanted to play through Steam you have to buy it again and vice versa. My question is if you purchased D4 through BNet and then VoH through Steam can you then play the full D4 game and VoH expansion through Steam?

No idea, but my guess would be that you need both versions on the platform you are playing on, my guess is battlenet and steam are counted as 2 different platforms.
If you can buy it on steam, it won’t run without the base game on steam too. I’m guessing that’s how it would work
You’ll have to buy the base game on Steam as well, but you won’t need to buy the expansion a second time.

Although now that I think about it, maybe not? And this is Blizzard we are talking about here. So I don’t think we are going to get a 100% for sure answer until release.
It really is a dumb system.
They should allow players to link their stem and Bnet accounts so players can use whichever platform they prefer at any given time or for any reason. It’s wild to me that they want players to buy an entire new license just to use a different launcher.
I can choose between several different launchers to trackmania and all of my purchases transfer between launchers.
Just look at the battlenet portal, im sure they are charging more for base +VoH right?
It wont let you buy expansion without base game.
Just dumb all these games having there own launcher for a few games, just transfer all sales to steam id much rather play off it anyway
They are separate game versions currently, so they require separate purchases. Hopefully they’ll make them universal access at some point.
I don’t mind companies having their own launchers. But if they are going to publish their games on multiple launchers, the bare minimum would be allowing games to be synced across launchers.
No you won’t be able to without also having the base game on steam.
You have to buy everything on Steam if you want to use Steam. Everything is Client Specific.
I bought Diablo IV at 60% off near Christmas. 2 hours later Diablo IV was on Steam with the same sale. I literally said WTF!
Each license key is tied to the specific account. Blizzard doesn’t do crossplatform account. So every account has to buy their own separate license key.
