Example like Druid Earth spike.
[Enhanced Earth Spike] - Earthspike has a 10% chance to Stun for 2.5 seconds.
[Fierce Earth Spike] - [Fortify] for 2% of your Base Life (X) whenever damages enemies who are Stunned, Immobilized, or Knocked Back.
[Wild Earthspike] - Summon a second [Earth Spike] when hitting an Immobilized or Stunned enemy.
Why would anyone pick Earth spike as the basic skill in any build??? This skill is practically useless.

While I agree with you, I picked earth spike on my companion druid.
It’s a good ranged basic and you don’t have to worry about skill-shotting mobs at the edge of the screen. It just does damage to whatever you click on.
Bosses have a stagger bar, I think skills with a chance to stun are the best way to trigger it.

Correct. Even the world bosses have a stagger bar, and can be stunned.

However if entire reaction chains of ccs like the rogue with daze, knock down, crit are relying on enemies getting CCs it’s pretty pointless against bosses
Oh are bosses immune to all CCs? Weird how I didnt notice this while playing lol. But I did notice a bar underneath some bosses, assuming its a stagger bar, I do remember bosses getting stunned out of nowhere a few times. I don’t really understand how it works but yeah if I had a chance to freeze skill and the boss doesnt freeze then that doesnt seem right lol… I’m assuming rather than bosses freezing when it does proc it just prgoresses the stagger bar to stun them? Idk…
A better question is does boss stagger trigger things the same way stuns / cc on normal mobs does?
the tiny amount of extra stagger in no way makes up for the loss in all the conditional damage you no longer get. Almost all builds give you a choice between doing a dot (bleed, poison etc) or a CC (slow, stun, freeze etc) . why would anyone give up the DOT damage that works on bosses for the CC that doesn’t? A waste of points… a good example is the ranger choice of applying a chill/freeze to bow or a poison/shadow DOT… no body will choice the chill/freeze as they are almsot useless compared to the DOT damage on bosses (maybe one stagger in entire fight extra vs 100%+ more damage?).
Freeze, Stun etc should still take place with their duration but instead apply a slow or less incoming damage effect on bosses - and then any conditional damage would also work during the duration.
Do elites have CC reduction? I have skills that stun for 6 seconds on mouse cursor but the duration of the stun in-game is significantly less against them.
Every boss its immune to EVERY CC. Until you feel the stagger build.
Thing is the only cc you will apply on bosses its with sorc freezes.
WHAT THEY NEED TO DO… make oter ccs have higher weight.
Freeze apply becouse each time chill apply the stagger bar moves, so every microhit.
The earth spyke piece you talked its for elites. Imobilize or do something else and earthspike. And this its when you BASE in basic skill damage (a thing you will not do with druid becouse EVERY SINGLE BASE SKILL ITS TRASH ).
