Bosses are too easy...even for new players

Love the game for the most part, but my friends and I started on Veteran to have a bit more of a chaotic and death-filled journey to 100 and things are a cakewalk…

The game needs another world tier in-between Veteran and Nightmare that’s just to enjoy the story but with hard bosses.

We aren’t arpg vets (I mean we play WoW and League but…) just wish the campaign/story mode bosses had more danger to them. Like all the respawn points are so close by, the bosses seemed to move so slowly and rarely do a big attack, and even then it would’t one shot or anything. Disappointed in that but the rest of the game is good so far. Does everything stay so easy even into nightmare?

And I have heard end game nightmare stuff can be tough but im mainly talking about the actual story, can we have a setting to make the actual story/campaign bosses harder? they do like no damage…whats the point of having a respawn right by each boss if it never gets used :frowning: I wanted my friends and I to be yelling, running around razzing each other, changing talents to try things for each boss, but its face roll :frowning:

playing in the veteran I killed lilith 1 hour ago and I must tell you that all the bosses had a reasonable difficulty, not very difficult and not very easy, don’t play the super expert professional player who is the best of all, be honest man, this is a normal difficulty fun to play, be honest bru!!!

Honestly, there is a big difference between playing solo and playing in a group. I’m willing to bet people playing on WT2 solo will have more trouble.

Also, you might have had meta builds and the game shouldn’t be balanced around those - at least not for WT1/WT2.

There are actually a lot of builds in the game that feel sort of like a slog to play as not all skills are equal. And of course, if the player is just learning ARPGs, their build is probably not going to be nearly as good as a meta build either. There is also no guarantee players will actually use legendary aspects properly or at all. For these players, WT2 bosses are going to feel hard.

For good or ill, I think the game shouldn’t be that punishing in WT1/WT2 and should instead leave it for WT3 and WT4. Casuals probably won’t go there, which is the right time to add the difficulty.

That’s what Hardcore is for. That is a massive challenge.

Playing solo on T2 I died like 5 times on the wolf boss in one of the dungeons and had to change my build. He was faster than me and auto attacks were taking off 10% of my health and there was avoiding it. Another boss I had trouble with was a spider boss in the a dungeon with all the webs it put on the ground and the crazy amount of adds.

Maybe it would have been easier in a group, but I didn’t have people to play with at the time. Or perhaps if I would look up a build and play that as opposed to just screwing around with the builds myself. But, I don’t like looking up builds and would prefer making stuff up as I go.

You’re playing in a group, on a setting that really just adds health to enemies, and it’s the campaign, which is meant for everyone to see…

It’s too easy!!! He says I mean we play wow and league we know everything to know but it’s too easy…bro what your talking about ain’t a problem maybe you should give yourself some credit and actually admit your not an idiot and can play an rpg. Diablo was never the biggest strategic combat game I mean have you ever played Diablo.

Seems mostly fine to me. I’ve died more times to mobs with multiple elites than I have on bosses but that’s because I am playing in melee and it’s hard to keep track of multiple mechanics on screen at times and I get caught with a couple big attacks at the same time.

WT3+ I expect more of a challenge, which players say it is at the start, but gets easy once you hear up, same on WT4 once you get uniques to power your build. I’m sure WT5+ is coming for those who need a real challenge.

The bosses in the campaign are easy, wich is no problem of we could do the bosses from the campaign again in world tier 3 and 4. I dont understand why we cant do the campaign boss runs on higher tier.

I love to try mu build against those big campaign bosses or do a ‘hell run’ on tier 3/4.

Is this coming later?? Cant understand their decission to not replay those bosses

Try playing Solo bosses take forever to kill.

Try playing as a Barbarian. You will be challenged then.

yes this exactly, I don’t mind the stuff being easy on WT2, but then we aren’t allowed to play the story mode on Nightmare or Torment…why? Id gladly play thru it on that difficulty for harder story bosses…I wanna be able to play the CAMPAIGN on a really hard difficulty with friends and die a lot, not have to wait for max level endgame WT4 to even struggle a little…

Every single last person that complains that the game is too easy always says they are in a group. Try playing the entire campaign on tier 2 SOLO.

If the game is too easy then you should have no problem doing so real quick.

I have no idea how people can complain a game is too easy when playing in a group. If a boss in Elden Ring is easy with a full group dose that mean that it is too easy? have you beaten that boss by yourself?

Playing with a group is supposed to make the game easy that is the entire point of having multiple people giving the boss more targets while also doing 2-3x more damage to it.

Make a new character and play the entire campaign solo then come back and talk about how easy or not the game is.

Im playing solo on WT3. Did not find a boss yet that can live up to minute. I can facetank the dungeonbosses with my rogue while getting hit by their strong attacks. I only have to move if the boss gets out of the reach of my blades.

So where is the middle ground between players that say the game is too easy and those that want to be able to clear nightmare dungeons in 3 minutes? When they nerf the game you have a whole different group of people calling the game trash for a whole different reason. I’m the eyes of those player buffing bosses, elites or enemies to make the game harder is considered a nerf.

It’s a delicate balance, one that I hope the dev team comes up with a creative solution to fix.

Just play solo then, group play make the game easier.

Then he’d cry the bosses are too hard and hurt his feels.
I’ve done a number of bosses with group, and without. Solo, they’re an on your toes event when you’re not geared up right :ok_hand:

I didn’t finish the campaign yet, but I’m lvl 36 HC T2 Solo all the way through. There was not a single time where I felt in danger. Yes - some bosses were taking really long time to kill until I got most of the buffs for my summons, but again - long did not really equal difficult.
Then again, maybe it’s because of the class/build. Minions provide a ton of safety to necro. On SC rogue I actually died a couple of times (1 to random butcher spawn and one getting boxed-in in a really small room). But again, these were not campaign bosses.

I think for the people that are saying it’s easy is because we have a good idea about mechanics in games like these so we know not to stand and face tank until we lose health then run away scrambling. I think for those newer to the genre are probably having more trouble being that the boss fights are more about mechanics than anything else. I would say definitely, anything ranged is much much easier in boss fights, as the damage they do is somewhat unfair to melee on harder levels.

Just keep positioning behind the boss which means being active 100% of the time with movement and it’s much easier. Utilize your dodge to cover ground and try and find gear with some health regen after not taking damage. This can save you man for real. Some fights when I ran out of potions I would just kite with dodge (I had gear with 2 charges that also gave movement speed for a second or two after) and would just let my health refill as well as some abilities to cool down. I’m not sure about Barb because I haven’t sunk into him yet but each class has something to help with fights.

Sorcerer: teleport and hydra for the constant dps + burn

Druid: poison creeper

Rogue: elemental effects for dots, invis

Necro: toss pets lol, skele reaper for the corpse shed, the basic skill that after 2.5 arcs sheds corpse so you can keep them in it or healed etc.

Hope this helps!
