I’ve been trying to find out why my character can still hit white numbers with 100 percent crit, around half my crit comes from Hatred’s Embrace’s Haste. I am attacking the target dummy with Bash and Hammer of the Ancients (I am not using the furious hammer variant), and I can see my crit chance drop after casting the hammer. What is happening here that makes the Boss Ability no longer apply the crit chance?
I take it you’re using Hatred’s Embrace as the modifier? What’s the main boss ability?
Torusk’s rage, I didn’t think that mattered but does the main power need to be active for it to apply?
I believe the main power has to fire for the modifier to operate, so it might be a timing issue between when it fires and your ability lands.
I tried it with Varshans life steal, which is never not firing. It only seems to drop the crit chance when you cast a core skill. Attacking with basic attacks does not drop the crit chance.
So I looked up Torusk’s rage.
I believe the first hit would apply the cc (unless you have a different source of cc like an aura).
The second hit fires the boss power, making the enemy Unstoppable and immune to cc.
You then don’t get more cc until Unstoppable wears off - thus the boss power doesn’t fire and you lose the modifier.
I just tried this without a main boss power and the crit still applies until you cast a core skill. Whirlwind seems to not break the crit chance, but hammer and upheaval do.
That seems very strange.
I guess file a bug report. Something seems off.
Leave town and go outside into a combat area. The crit chance comes back. It looks like it doesn’t seem to apply in town? Or maybe the tooltips aren’t picking it up right? my crit chance went from 40% to 80%.
It does not apply in town. The bug is that it stops applying after casting a non channeled skill. So it applies for auto attacks and whirlwind but not HOTA or Upheaval. I was testing it on the combat dummy.
