Boss fights are a chore/needlessly time wasting

please look at the reward vs time spent in cinematics/ie: invulnerability waste of time phases.

eg:
a) let us upgrade our keys. 99 keys => golden key. using golden key to open the hoard box = 99x loot.
b) or cut down the phases to nil. if you manage to dps them before they do even phase 1 then they should just die.

c) make the chests and altars pop up faster. at most 1 second delay from death /chest open.

I have 99x 10 slots of boss mats that is a tedium to even use.

This is just… such a terrible idea. Imagine how rampant duping would be, moreso than it already is. RMT would also go crazy. And can you imagine just how much loot would be on the floor? You might actually crash.

If you run the right bosses they’re very rewarding considering what you put in.

I agree it could be better but this isn’t it.

someone did the math on the Duriel fight. From the time they clicked the beacon there was over 45 seconds of dead time before the fight ends. As usual not very well thought out and definitely a no effort time sink. Cheap delay tactics are not engaging gameplay.

Let people start at level 300 (for 10.000 Gems) with all full GA mythics and uniques in their treasure chest having a comfortable dropdown menu where they can choose all the stats the want.

Only condition: They have to wear a pink baby-bear t-shirt :teddy_bear:

This is a Hall of Fame level idea. :ok_hand:

Awful idea, just awful.

no they are not… lol

maybe they are to you if you like to collect garbage

I like to collect mythics, and items that sell for 30b+. Remind me exactly why do you think bosses are unrewarding?

ill repeat it like a broken record.

Torment levels have base bosses.

You can summon Uber boss according to your last pit clear (If you killed pit 90(solo pit level summon vs Group pit summon; If you want to summon a pit 150 belial then you as a group need to clear a pit 150 and that group then needs to go to the boss) then you kill that version of the boss then you get 9 chest to open with mats)

this would make those of us that want challenging non one shot bosses more fun but also appease the tiktok brain people mad they have to run a boss 100 times cause they farmed or RMT for 100 mats

Ignoring the RMT, b/c I’m curious how you’re addressing players who have 100 mats, without your non sequitur: you’re implying they should be doing something else (toward loot hunt) but forgot to mention what that is. What should they be doing? It might help people like OP, I take it.

I mean my problem fixes the RMT because those people can either kill a pit 100 belial and only need to do 1 run for 10 chest or they cant and will have to complain “I needed to run belial 100 times to use all my mats that i RMTd”

Perhaps a more feasible alternative would be to up the Duriel/Andariel/Harbinger chests cost to 9-15 mats to open instead, with a reciprocal increase to Ancestral/Mythic/Baby Belial chance.

I’m sitting on nearly 3 stacks of each, and slogging through it all is just the antithesis of fun and motivational.

Some other possible suggestions to make the boss fights less tedious:

1- Cut down transition animations significantly. Especially the intro cinematics.

2- Have tiny ( .5 to 1 second, depending on the boss and how hard the devs want the fight to be) “no immunity phase” windows at the start of each battle, and after each immunity phase.

  • As your character powers up, eventually you’ll be able to do enough damage in those windows to skip some or all phases, as an additional reward for time and progression.
  • Yes, S-tier build would one-shot them easily, but: a) that’s a balance issue, more than an overall challenge issue (ideally speaking, A & B tier builds should be skipping some/all phases at around Paragon 225-250), b) Who cares? If you want longer boss fights, challenge yourself to not play S-tier.

3- Variety in bosses!

  • Not just: Do Damage, immunity phase where you kill three things, do damage, immunity phase where you kill three things, do damage, done.
  • Maybe Andariel (with the most obnoxious phases) could start the fight with a 3 second window where she has a low-grade version of world boss resilience but no immunity phases… but there is no other way to skip her immunity phases, it’s all or nothing. Make it a REALLY HARD dps check. You “solve” Andariel with truly massive damage.
  • Duriel could constantly fill the screen with high damage DoTs, making most of the fight a nightmare of high twitch reflexes… But, with enough health and damage mitigation, eventually you can just face-tank him. You “solve” Duriel with tankiness.
  • Harbinger could have no “no immunity phase” windows inherently, but his glowing orbs (used on him) pause immunity phases for some brief amount of time. You “solve” Harbinger with tactics, and would be vastly easier for groups.
  • With Stygian Stones, you could focus most of your time on the boss that suits your build and play style best.

We need better quality loot, not more useless loot.

I’d be all for using extra boss mats to increase the chances of 1-4GA and mythic drops to a certain extent however.
