mabe instead 1 shoting player just give boss boost power speed etc, per stack till player understand whts this fight gona end bad for him if he not teleport? you alrdy said you dont like 1 shot mechanic … it can be used on normal elites or mini bosses too
I agree the one shot thing is a stupid band aid fix.
Well, the worst thing with this kind of debuff it’s that it increase the already huge gap between distant aoe glass cannon and melee tanky build.
Debuffs should be reserved for challenging bosses like Echo of Lilith or the new co-op dungeon. They have no place in farming dungeons—this is a loot farming game, after all.
Just don’t get hit by the shadows. Problem solved. The bosses themselves don’t give the statcks only the shadows. It’s not like there’s unavoidable shadow attacks.
The debuff mechanic has to go NOW !

Nobody wants to have souslike fights in the game where every step in the wrong direction is an unremovable mistake.

Give us a mechanic to REMOVE stacks… e.g. running 10 seconds around and not getting a new stack → -1 debuff stacks

This. Absolutely should be a Skill Check mechanic to remove stacks. The stacking debuffs and damage should not be tuned such that it almost always results in a one-shot either, just a high damage attack. Attack sequences that apply stacking debuffs should absolutely be telegraphed, and able to be avoided. Having these sorts of attacks occur incessantly forcing you to spend most of your time running with Max Movement spend and Mobility Skills on top of Evade just isn’t fun - especially for builds or classes that are not hit and run.
Wipe Mechanics should be reserved for The Citadel and Torment Bosses. Wipe Mechanics should almost exclusively appear at Boss Health benchmarks (ie. 75%, 50%, 25%). Staggering Bosses or dealing enough damage to jump these health windows would delay or potentially avoid that Wipe Mechanic event from starting. Wipe Mechanics should have a Skill Check where the player(s) perform something to avoid the Wipe.
Poor design should not be excused.
Stop calling this game and those stacks “soulslike”

Listen, im an old drunk, but i still have no problem clearing pit after pit with no stacks.
Yes, the damned shadows come too often and the hardest part is just DAMAGING the boss.
BUT there is no time limit. Take your time. Avoid shhhhhtuff. Masterwork gear. Its that simple

The only stacks I find hard to avoid are from Uber Lilith as a pure melee character. I have seen a single attack from her take mine from 0 to 4.
So what I did was build for it. I can eat up to 32 stacks on Barbarian and still survive thanks to an insane amount of DR.
The other tormented bosses it’s mostly avoidable if you understand the mechanics. Pit bosses and shadow bosses also. The longer the fights go on, the more times you have to avoid the mech. That’s why people use meta builds to blast these things down, which is also the reason why Blizz gave them so much HP.

There’s no reason to implement it everywhere. Its a loot game. If we don’t do enough damage then its not efficient. If the bosses hit to hard, then we die. Simple mechanics belonging to an arpg.
Running around avoiding things is a different genre of gameplay.
Or like bringing uber lilith down in 4 seconds BUT still having to do the bs shadow orbs dodging game because she becomes invulnerable and you still have to do it even if you hit her with 30 billion dmg on start
If she ate 99% of her hp worth of dmg what is the reason behind not being able to kill her straight away? Is that orb dodge game supposed to be fun or needed?
some bosses, specially at the pit, have ridiculous ammount of HP.

the easiest solution is to utilize your dodge and avoid the mechanics that stack the debuff
High tier pit bosses with retarded amounts of hp is the main reason why high tier pits are worthless, killing the boss must not take WAY more than doing ALL the dungeon before it, for the time you waste there you can basically do an IH run for many times the reward

i think it is stupid to have such a high level bosses if your skills are not buffed…that’s what we call UMBALANCE.
The easiest solution is for them to remove a mechanic that no one likes. Especially in an activity that must be repeated so many times - alts anyone?
