Boring pointless game

This game is a waste of time. Nothing to do except repeat the same dungeons over and over. You can stand still and hack bosses to death.

Why spend so much money on the cutscenes when the actual gameplay is top down mobile style with ant sized characters?

The lack of mechanics in the combat is actually quite bad in this game. There’s really limited opportunity for skill expression through kiting, outplays, etc.

it’s definitely like a mobile game where you go through the motions of doing combos, but really everything is mostly just a gear/level check, in which the combat frequently turns into things either on shotting or doing nothing.

Yes, Blizzard thought having a bunch of things to do in an ARPG was what kept people playing rather than great itemization, crafting, etc. They prioritized quantity over quality, I would’ve much rather been happy with 8-10 unique, massive multi-level dungeons with multiple named bosses that can drop great loot and gradually build up from this base with expansions and seasons rather than the 130 generic single floor dungeons to destroy 5 blood orbs…boggles the mind…not to mention the long list of other problems this game has.

again, I am not defending this game because I also think end game is garbage at best right now.

But in all fairness aRPG game like Diablo and PoE is all about doing endless looping content - with that said, I am perfectly fine with this and find it enjoyable ONLY if the progression is rewarding , with something to chase after.

Right now none of that is in the game.

What an original post. Haven’t heard this before in the forums

Repeating the same dungeons would be fine if there was actually interesting loot that dropped. Unfortunately, there is noting feasible to go after in this game. It’s all very boring and useless.

Exactly, that is what kept people running Baal 200x in a row, meanwhile, after 3 NM Dungeons, im fighting the urge to throw my keyboard across the room from sheer boredom.

There’s no incentive to make a new character. There’s not even incentive to continue leveling up after beating the story.

Can’t carry characters over to the seasons so the only thing to do is either torture myself to make a new character and grind the renown and quests all over again or never get to experience any new content.

Think I’d rather drop the game entirely before putting too much time and effort in.

They just need 5-7 more boss fights like Uber Lilith

I logged in for the first time in many days today because I decided to just try and roll a new class and see if that was fun. Then I realized all my stash is full. I don’t want to get rid of perfect rolled aspects for sorc because maybe I’ll want to make a build off one. I’m not going to delete them just to try a new class I might hate. Why the f isn’t there more stash space in this game?

If they even mildly play tested this, they would see the inventory demands in THEIR version of an APRG are huge. Above and beyond any ARPG I’ve ever played but only 4 little stash tabs shared across ALL characters. It’s ridiculous.

So I just closed the game. I can’t even try a new class without deleting necessary items.

Right. When you finally got that high rune or shako, it was a real thrill, one that happened often enough to make the grind rewarding. Really was pitch perfect. This game has none of that.

Uhhm, welcome to what almost everybody else has been saying since 3 days after launch.

Now - this sounds fun! Can I get the version of D4 that has what you just described?!

Even if something good drops there’s no worthwhile content to use it for. I know it’s a different genre but a game like Destiny 2 has raids and lets you keep using the same characters forever.

If I could keep my old characters I might be more inclined to check out the new seasons. But as it stands they are treating new seasons like an annual sports game where everything you do feels for nothing.

I am not buying mtx stash tabs for a game I’ve already spent $70 on. If that’s what they try to pull, I will uninstall and never look back.

They have screwed up so much basic, fundamental stuff that it’s actually impressive the software will launch at all.

I took a break after finishing the story to play Jedi Survivor. When I came back I was bored out of my mind.

That’s actually a very good point. I’ll harken back to D2 again for how they solved this. You can make a javazon to do cows with more efficiency than other classes. You can find bases in cows more often than other places. You have a reason to find things and built other classes because they could deal with other content better than your first character. It wasn’t all just the same thing. And here it’s even worse because I couldn’t care less about finding blocks and putting them on pedestals. If I had to find 7 prisoners then find two blocks and put them on platform before I could farm meph, I never would have farmed meph.

So many bad ideas here and so little actual content. No items worth finding. And no classes that do varied content better than others. It’s like an empty shell of a game.

This. I don’t mind the loop itself. I don’t even mind the grind. What makes the grind boring is the loot. It’s terrible.

imagine if those uber uniques are actually obtainable by average player that majority plays D4. How much incentive it would add for players to hop back in and start grinding.

but no, the devs think that is not how psychology works. LOL

They think people are more encouraged to play when they frustrate you to no end and make the drop rate nearly impossible.

I mean this is a big part of the problem besides the bland copy/paste dungeons, dungeon objectives and gameplay the loot is also boring and bland.

Because there’s a STAGGERING difference between feeling like the next Baal kill could drop an insanely good unique you could trade or give to a friend (Which it actually could, btw), and knowing that all you’re getting is, at best, a single item with 1% more Vulnerable Damage on it. That’s if you hit the lottery and get the other 3 stats you need on it already and have a small fortune for their gold-sink enchant system.

Anyone running NM dungeons thinking they’re one run away from a “Uber Unique” is someone whose opinion I won’t even entertain. They’re not living in reality.

The mount, the trade chat, none of this is anywhere NEAR as big a problem as the atrocious loot system they have. People brought this up during server slam and other test weekends - and they were told these items were “Game-changing” and would almost certainly be the loot chase at the end of the game. They knew they were putting this dogwater out for release when they said this.
