As I make my way through this thing; I’ve grown to dread boss fights… mainly because each one has grown more tedious and boring than the last. I am in no way exaggerating when I say that bosses take upward of 6-10 minutes to even attempt. The entire thing one long slog of “avoid the AOE ground spam, roll to avoid charge, and fire increasingly ineffective spells against the giant wall of HP that I have to chip away at.” By far the funniest ones are the ones where the boss will just chase me around the arena, so I wind up just running around the edge dropping fire-walls behind me as I go. And then, when by sweet mercy of the abyss I’m freed from the tedium, they drop 2 blues and a rare.
Is this fun to anyone? Clearly Blizzard knows there’s a problem given how bosses get around the potion limit is by dropping the things like pez dispensers. I’m still on my initial run through teh game; haven’t even hit World Tier 3 yet and this is bloody ridiculous. Something is deeply wrong in the level scaling for these.; this cannot be the intended experience.

Idk what you talking about i burn bosses down in less than a minute on WT3 and i was doing the same on WT2

Yea… I think bosses are lame but mostly because they’re usually the least threatening part of the dungeon.
I don’t think I’ve spent over 5 minutes per attempt on any boss in D4.

Even if they don’t actually take 10 minutes, OP is right. Bosses feel like a slog with no real reward.
Oh; good for you. This is in no way helpful.

There are some skeletons that have more HPs then bosses… its gotten to the point I just ignore them and move on… Ive used all cooldowns and they can still be standing… and they are pointless trash without loot.
Bosses… they go down in a flash… I did bump into one today that took over a minute but they were also in NM WT4 +10 Levels higher then my character. Still dropped trash loot so not worth the extra effort.
6 to 10 minutes? I don’t think it’d take that long just from spamming the base attack. What are you doing during these boss fights?
why do you call the dungeon ending timegate “boss”? does it do something like a boss?

Fire off my “ultimate” (nothing has ever been less ultimate in the history of gaming), unload all my cool downs and then… run around the arena dropping fire-walls and waiting for the rest of my spells to come off cool down, rinse, repeat. Each rep taking about… maybe a 20th off the giant health bar. I can’t die because for every minion that the boss summons my HP and mana restore; so it’s just a matter of time… lots and lots of time… of my limited time on this Earth between cradle and eternity-long dirt nap.
a lot of people posting here forgot what it was like doing the campaign… early boss fights at low lever were slog fests yes… especially if your not meta building…
i hate to break it to you but the end run into hell is easily an hour and a half if your doing 10 min per boss its what 9 bosses to get to lilth and she is easily 4 boss fights in one as far as damage she soaks. The campaign was utterly boring and i skipped it on all my alts.
Like others have said once your in t3 and getting geared up the bosses are a joke. its the trash that becomes the pain.

It’s really pathetic how crappy the boss loot is in this game.

Haven’t heard of anyone who actually likes these gimmicky Dark Soul xbox style boss fights. In fact, even the most Blizzard flagwaving suckup content creators and partners say they don’t belong in a Diablo game.

Please don’t compare Dark Souls bosses to Blizzard’s lazy, inept trash. They aren’t anywhere near the same level.

At lvl 81 i cant even see the Boss because he is dying in 3 Seconds lol.
Took me +/- 10 mins to kill a lv72 Helltide boss (I was lv60), it dropped 3 rare items and gave me a pixel of experience.
Loot and XP are the worst thing in this game.
Agreed, that scarab is trash and has never dropped anything of any value that I know of. It should at least drop a cashe of Cinders that can be saved for later opening/use.

I kill dungeon bosses in less than 30 seconds on WT4.
Your build is wrong or your character is poorly geared. It’s not a game issue. You just don’t have a very strong character.
Well, to add insults to the injury, rewards are mostly lackluster as well. Lvl 25 beta’s bosses felt more rewarding because of boosted drop rates. Now? Nothing like getting through the tedium for your underlevelled rares and blues. How exciting…
As other people have said, this game has some interesting souls like bosses where they actually expect you to dodge and watch out. But this is the most basic, lazy form of that stuff becuase the game is based on one shotting stuff and the dodge button is on a timer. So they have loads of health as an only solution.
Bosses can’t be “cool” and “interesting” with movesets unless they give you a permanent dodge and other mechanics. Melania or godfrey do not work in diablo

Yes you are, because a lot of builds can shred bosses in under 5 minutes.
Hell my summoner necro shreds bosses, bringing in loads of CC to stun them and I usually go through entire ‘phases’ of boss fights (I consider a phase to be between when I start doing damage and when potions pop out of them) within a few seconds, depending on the boss of course.
If you’re focused on a heavy AoE build for trash clearing then of course your single target is going to suffer and it’s going to take longer than it should. But saying that bosses take 6-10 minutes to attempt? That’s an exaggeration.
