Hi. I played the expansion using the trial which had a boost for the character. Then I bought the expansion and now the boost quest is not available for my 2nd character. I opened a support ticket and the GM asked me post over here. Is it possible to reset the quest on my character? I need the items and build selection because all my items are tagged as “Legacy”. Thank you.
Did you use that boost?
I think you had to have the expansion prior to the addition of the quest boosts which provided up to two if you had the expansion. I’m not sure it will award a second boost post purchase if its done after this bonus was offered. I will have to see if I can research that.
But ultimately, this isn’t a technical issue so Tech support is probably not the best place for this question.
Finally, I can’t recall if this boost will work on a character that is already level 50 or not. I used a boost for a character I had that was level 47 and that one worked. Technically I should still have one boost left, but I haven’t bothered with it. I could test this real quick on one of my other level 50 heroes. BRB.
You do know you can just farm up or even buy new items, right? This is why this isn’t that big of a deal. You could have most of the items you need within an hour or less if you farm for them.
Video of me testing this just a few minutes ago:
Yes. I did use a boost on my first character.
I had two lvl 50 characters. I was able to get the items and build for the 1st character. After buying expansion the second boost is not working for my 2nd lvl 50 items.
Yes. Trying to avoid farming.
I don’t think it will either.
Have you tried logging out of the game, then logging out of Battlenet (this part matters, its not exiting the app, its actually signing out of your account), restarting the PC and then, logging back into Battlenet, then start the game back up?
But I think its more likely to be the first issue I posted above:
The following is from their official post:
If you also own the Vessel of Hatred expansion, you’ll be able to harness this powerful boost for two characters on the Eternal Realm.
Note. This doesn’t say if you purchase the expansion later. It reads as though you would have already had to have owned the expansion on the 19th.

And again, this isn’t a technical support issue. This is a potential bug at worst, or how the game works presently.
In a game that’s about farming gear? Okay.
Thank you for trying to help me. To each his own.
Is it possible to have boot quest reset for my character? I think that should fix the issue.
I have no answer for that. And I suspect that Blizzard is unlikely to provide a response or at least not here.
You may want to try asking in the bug forum or in general, if nothing else to see if anyone else has ran into this or had come across a solution.
