Does this thing even exist ?
I unlocked it in the Codex forever ago, but I’ve yet to see it drop on a ring even ONCE. It’s honestly starting to really piss me off as I could very much use at least a 1.5 roll for my build (why’d they cap it at 1.9 instead of 2 so annoying.)
RNG is RNG. If they actually let you add Aspects to your Codex and Upgrade them, it would be way less painful.
Problem is… it’s no actual “pure” RNG, there are aspects that drop WAY less than others. Drops have different “weights” (I think is called), meaning different chances to appear
U have bear clan? I have 2 bold chieftain from obols rings at Ked Bardu. Bear Clan is another story… i think it only exists on wiki
edit: never seen a Bear Clan over 2 barb totally 165 lvls. I guess need to hit 300hrs of play time before game will consider dropping it.

Pretty useful to reduce CD for one of the shouts which can then reduce CD for the other 2 with bold chieftain.
I just got my first Barb to 100 in eternal and I’ve found 2 along the way from drops. Gambled obols about 8-9 times as well and got 0 from it.
Got my bear clan just yesterday, to bad its just a 18% roll 
But i have a 1.7sec chieftain, so all fine 
In eternal I devoted all my Obols to rings and I had 4 at lvl 75 or so.
I’ve been running around at lvl 100 for weeks and still haven’t had one drop. Gamble it all on rings….zilch…zero…nada
It does. I’ve put 500 hours into the Barbarian so far and I’ve gotten that thing twice so I would say it’s not all that common.
Its gonna be fun in S2, if/when they take away bold cheiftain’s from the codex.
Ugh they seriously need to just put all aspects in the Codex and let us farm for upgrades.
I understand the concept behind their original idea and it does sound neat on paper, but in practice all it does is clog up inventory, create endless frustration over stressing about whether or not to “waste” a good roll, it greatly hinders experimentation and by extension build diversity, and of course it’s a totally unnecessary gold sink.
It wouldn’t be half as bad if we could at least rip them off an item they were placed on to recycle the power but even that would probably be too convenient.
Fixing aspects absolutely needs to be priority 1 going into Season 2. It’s probably too dramatic of a change to get any sooner than that but as long as it happens
Got one very early on (sub level 20). Never seen another one sense. But in fairiness I haven’t played barb except for world bosses now for maybe 3 weeks for weekly bonus. rare, rare, rare. maybe even more rare than Umbral?
Funny thing is I’ve gotten several Umbral but I don’t need that at all because I don’t use Fury… I just want my shout cooldowns damn it.

But yeah, confirms my feelings. Umbral is rare, but my ratio of bold chieftan is way, way lower still than what I’ve seen for Umbral
