Bloodless scream not working

Does bloodless scream even work ? It doesn’t seem the shadow damages from corpses inflicted any chills at all

Yes it chills. Capped “up to 40%” so it never reaches fully frozen, and can be hard to tell. Honestly it’s a visual usability issue like a lot of status effects in this game (EG Iron Maiden).

Monsters aren’t fully blue-tinted when chilled; you really have to squint and look for the small blue-ish patches on their skin to notice.

It would be even better if like shadow corpse explosion had an obvious blue-ish VFX when using the scythe, but alas.

Isn’t stacking chills up would froze mobs ? The dot never freeze them

Yeah but specifically for Bloodless the tooltip says “Chills up to 40%” so it can’t get up to 100% to freeze. I guess they thought it would be too OP and capped the chill.

I see! Thanks for the clarification

That’s kinda dumb. So if you want to take advantage of the extra damage against frozen you have to equip Frostburn with your Bloodless Scream?

Agree that the cap is silly. Don’t make a unique and then subtract the fun from it. Sometimes they seem so oriented towards limiting fun.

And also regenerate 10 essences against frozen target as well. This unique is like 50% working :joy::joy:

To top that off, it is also a 2H scythe where you get up on kills rather than lucky hit or critical damage, which is retarded

The grandfather be like “ignore durability loss” :joy::joy::joy:

Bloodless Scream works perfectly. I made a whole build around the Bloodless Scream and it works. Frozen and all.

When it says Chills up to 40%, you have to understand how Frozen works. Chill applications range from 1-100%. Each skill has a value that applies a certain amount. To reach the Frozen status, it has to build Chill up to 100%.

To better understand Chill, we look at Sorcerer.

Frost Bolt: Applies 15% Chill per hit
Frozen Orb: Applies 34% Chill to targets it passes through
Blizzard: Applies 18% continuously over 8 seconds
Frost Bolt Enchantment: Skills apply up to 15% Chill

In order to reach 100%, we fire Blizzard and Frozen Orb. In the first second, we apply 82% to all targets affected. In second 2, we get the second tick of Blizzard which adds 18% chill making it 100%. In this sequence, we’ve just made an entire pack of monsters, or just one, Frozen in 2 seconds.

Now back to Necromancer with this new understanding. Unfortunately, unlike Sorcerer, there are no chill values listed for each skill. That makes it a guess as to how much chill you have to apply to reach 100%. However what we do know is that the mechanic of Chill and Frozen work a certain way. It says in the tooltip that hitting enemies repeatedly with Chill causes it to Freeze. Therefore, in order to get targets to freeze, you have to increase the amount of hits via your skills.

With this, I’m sure that you guys can come up with your own Bloodless Scream build or maybe it’s already out there on Youtube, I dunno.

So, you are saying, each darkness skills can only chill upto 40% … so 3 different skills damaging will bring it to 120% where they froze off ?

If so, Sever with the boots, and corpses explosions should be able to stack up chills and freeze pretty quickly though. If this is how they intend it to work with bloodless scream, then I will look at it later. For now, I only farm with hybrid shadow/blood build

That’s the idea but the issue is that unlike Sorcerer, it doesn’t say in the tooltip how much chill a given skill applies. So you sort of have to guess.

Don’t forget the Cold Mages with the aspect :sunglasses: :+1::bone: :cloud_with_lightning_and_rain: :smiling_imp:

Yeah! I will revamp this for sure as I am building a DOT build. Just loving it and clearing stuff without barber

Check out the other thread, I just posted a link to the build.
