The only hope of completing this season task is you’re playing at 5am, and everyone else in your region is asleep. Currently when a player transforms into the butcher, they’re immediately one shot by another player. 4 times now I have stood in a circle with randos spite killing each other to compete to complete this task.
This clearly wasn’t tested or thought through. The butcher is embarassingly weak compared to the average player who’s willing to go to a pvp zone.
Is that the kill mobs with the Butcher objective? If so, turn off crossplay.
Today, I spent all day in the Fields to farm seeds. Over those many hours, I saw ONE other player at one of the rituals that whole time. I could have done that objective 10 times over.
Just to add to this, I would also say if it doesn’t have to be done on a specific difficulty, try them all, from normal to penitent and various torment tiers. Usually you’ll find less people depending on the difficulty.
I only briefly looked at the objectives last time I was on.
Someone invited me to their party and requested that, but they weren’t able to pick up the totem in the party, and when I left, it booted me out of their instance automatically. I didn’t really want to give away my ears, anyways.
Oh, the fields are always empty. The issue comes when the ceremony starts ppl gather at the shrine and just endlessly reskilling eachother (who gets the butcher) like monkeys till it ends in 20 min. If you take the idol and become butcher you cannot even move 1 meter before you die..its abilities doesnt even load….its so unbeliveably dumb nd clearly untested.
But like i said, with crossplay off there was no one there for the rituals, except for one playrt out of the 10i-15 rituals that I was there for. Which is why I said,
This isn’t a solution, it’s circumventing the event entirely. If that’s how it was intended to be completed they might have well just not included this seasonal task.
I saw they updated this issue in the patch notes. Hopefully this post helped inspire that change. Either way I’m thankful.
Just ignore it then. It’s not mandatory. You gain nothing meaningful by completing it. S13 rolls around, you won’t even know if your character did it or not.
