This is the saddest rationalization I have ever seen.

I know, I was thinking theoreticaly.
Iām not the one who made an issue of āneeding a barb to kill Durielā.
Barb will still be strong. Take off your BL, Red Furor, your shouts, your tibaults and your GF right now is S3. Thatās your S4 damage.
I played my S3 Barb with none of those things and still saw regular hits around the 10 million mark. Yes I realize 10 million is significantly less than 1 Billion, but that amount of damage was never needed to clear anything in the game. Even 10 million feels overkill on everything thatās not an uber boss.
The truth likely is that Barb was not nerfed enough.
Same for all classes.
Because it leads to a broken game.
ALL the classes need to be nerfed. Barb just needed to be nerfed more than the others.
That would be one of the goals with massive nerfs, so why would you complain about it?
- Classes should not be specialists at anything. BUILDs should.
- A specialist boss killer still should not kill a boss at anywhere close to 1 hit, or 3 seconds.
Well, they should.
As before, all classes should be nerfed in different ways.
If barb has the same damage as other classes but has to be melee range then why play barb? Sorc decimated gauntlet and got nothing but buffs.
The devs are banking on barb bleed being a thing, but they do not get the fact that Rend is just a fancy basic skill. It provides no convenience or speed end game.

let me put it this way : why should barb be tremendously stronger than melee rogue and melee druid despite them being melee ?
also, itās not really seen on the damage itself but on the tankyness : Sorc is a glass-cannon most of the time (especially with the nerf of the fire passive) : and in a diablo game : tons of damage comes from enemiesās missiles
melee barb, melee druid and melee rogue arenāt. (though melee rogue is more paper-like compared to barb and druid)
Barbarian is far , very far from being the ugly duckling in the group when it outperform every other melee build in every way possible.
and once again : gauntlet is itās own thing : every class has itās own LB , and not many people actually care about gauntlet compared to the main game.
and sorcās glitch that allowed these scores were fixed i heard.

Because they have the option of not being melee. Being melee for barb is not a choice.
oh right, then tell me, how does a melee build of a druid/rogue etcā¦ (letās say : werebear or something else) can be something else than melee ?
your argument donāt make any sense.
as soon as you decide to play a melee build : youāll be melee, even if you are a sorc.
doesnāt have anything to do with the class itself.
even if the class itself can potentially be something else than melee, if your build is purely melee : itās meaningless to think about what it could be since your build isnāt.
barb also have an option to be something like a bard : should it be considered as such ?

Innovate, Meta barb builds had WW and hota both core skills. I played tb s2 and I could have easily swapped a skill for a ranged one.
Overall barb damage got divided by 10, i did not complain about most stuff. This nerf specifically was too much.
that still donāt make any sense, i asked for werebear druid for exampleā¦which is like hota but was 100 times weaker.
once again : itās not tied to class but to the build you choose to do.
so : no , barb donāt have any reason to be stronger than other melee builds.
they were already way tankier than them in the first place for no reason.
a melee build is a melee build , simple as that.
this nerf wasnt too much. all other builds will do just fine. im sure bleed/rupture will be doing more than any other class and be 1shotting bosses np
Rend is a hyped up basic skill you cant convince me otherwise.

The thing that enables sorc to perform at such a high level in the gauntlet got a huge nerf. Infinite teleport is gone just the same as infinite charge is gone from barbarian.
Well until this changeā¦Iām going to be the most annoying barb possible. Gonna be one-shotting everything. See that group of mobs that you are running toā¦charege/smashā¦nopeā¦you donāt. Want to test your build on this world bossā¦charge/smashā¦nopeā¦you canāt. Let me have my last month of fun!
As much as I think Barbs need a nerf, I donāt think putting a cap on it is the right answer. They should just keep lowering the percentage until a cap isnāt needed!
