Blizzard vs. math

Blizzard, I don’t know who’s doing your math, but I can tell you it’s a failure.

The update to craft Uber Unique is totally deprived of any basic notion of its player base. Since yesterday - apparently - only ONE player has dropped an Uber Unique by running a T83 Vault. How many daily players do you have online? Thousands. Thousands who dedicate at least 5 hours to the game and out of those thousands only ONE player - maybe a few more - has dropped an Uber Unique.

There are seven Uber Unique’s and you need FIVE to craft one. I understand that the Uber Unique needs to be rare, but we don’t have a decent trade system in the game. Not every player has the time and availability to spend 10 hours every day trying to get an Uber Unique during 90 days for the season. And that’s the majority of Diablo 4’s player base.

I’m lucky enough to be among friends who can do this, which has made it easier for me to get the items I need and have two Uber Unique to spare, but the reality of the Diablo 4 player base is totally different.

The chance of dropping a Unique is higher. Why not have a system where you use a much larger amount of Unique’s, something around 25/35 Unique’s so that you can salavage and have 1 Resplendent Sparks? Unique’s can drop very often into dungeons, killing the right bosses like Varshan, Gregoire, etc. Why do you have to update the game for a small percentage of players that can use the crafting system?

And by the way: you guys need to do something with the builds. There’s at least 32 differente Builds between all the classes and only a few are playable. I can make whatever I want, but I can’t kill Duriel with any Build. This META stuff make the game boring. We are into Season 3 and it’s always the same stuff.

Why can’t people just play whatever they want and can achieve everything with their build? Trag’Oul was amazing in Diablo 3, Blood Surge is trash on Diablo 4. Look at Pure Summoner Necro, can’t even stand a higher level Nightmare Dungeon.

You guys need to think about the players. The majority of them. Not the few streamers that can get 20 Uber Unique’s every week.

This is not true. Tons of viable builds now, just HOTA still reigns supreme.

you think only 1 person found an uber? why because a streamer said only 1 of his friendslist/clan people found one, that equates to every player in the game now?

I’m into a community with at least 1000 players, many of them grinding all day long. None of them dropped. How many did you dropped? How many did your friends dropped?

Well thought out and said. Thank you :).

4 in around 200 runs in S2
I got 12 in S2 I think prob did 1000 runs.

I do not know anyone without at least 1 uber in S3 and multiples or multiples in S2.

Didnt know anyone in S1 that had one. They use to be lottery items and now they are uncommon items.

Yea I grinded hundreds of Malta’s runs with no unique stones too. They want you grinding for gear because that’s all there is. There is no enjoyable content still in endgame. Blizzards idea is to get people to grind, not for fun

so you are setting up a thread to talk about math, without really much information on how many ubers dropped?

pretty much every build can do a t100 nmd. Just because certain builds are extremely strong, it doesnt make other builds unplayable. Its just personal decision to stick to those builds.

The point is it shouldn’t be impossible.

I spent 30 hrs on D3, and I got BIS in every slot. May not be primal or ancient, but they are BIS. In D4? You grind and grind to get a chance at “target” farming.

Financial analysts are most likely the ones doing the math so you will never know the true gain they expect from a change like this. Uber crafting helps the small % of people that, 1. play the game the most and, 2. probably spend the most money. If you want to get conspiratorial there could be money being made by sites selling Duriel mats and people at blizzard that some how get a kick back??? We will never know unless its a requirement for all blizzard employees to submit their tax returns to the public every year.

when i read smthing like this aka “x was amazing in D3 but not in d4” i pretty much doubt competency of those guys cuz there was nothing amazing in D3 at all.

LMAO

Can you tl/dr this for me?

d3 was better, d4 is too time consuming. I want COD RIFTs again please with uber uniques raining from the sky.

Would be nice to have two servers

The casual server
And
The grind server

Casual has their drop rates 10x, group finder, loot filter a bunch of creature comforts

The grind is this game at launch with the uber ladder added in

that we know of yes. It’s more then 1 player

I can press the square button better than you is what the gauntlet should be named

Wasn’t there something about devs NOT wanting players going out on the internet to read build guides or something of that nature?

I can certainly attest to the fact that creating a character that is fun to play does not equal a character that can actual do stuff like kill Duriel. D3 was just horrid at this, the pigeon-hole of viable builds killed the game for me (among many other aspects). I think it comes down to testing, they just do not test. Think of the builds that can take down Duriel with ease, consider that an unpatched exploite, i.e. this build was not working as dev’s intended.

true

but i mean is there any difference in this topic among D3 and D4?
Well now they called it aspects not sets but this is absolutly same items with different colors which are 100% predeterm your build.

And this already looks like unsolvable issue in terms of core mechanics.

Unless the rng is scripted (player needs to collect all uniques post patch) the drop rate is too low outside Duriel. Ppl would know ppl who got stuff. Talk about it, share links in trade chat. Stuff like that. Look at how many ppl played yesterday on steam alone. That many ppl arent keeping their ubers secret.
