Useful uniques like the 300 or so useless uniques in Diablo 2? Almost all of them are useless man. Rune words are also completely broken in D2. The itemization of D2 is trash. Maybe project D2, but certainly not D2.
Just need another tier of gear with 5 affixes
It’s so funny that an item in D2 with 3 elemental resistances on it is considered super useful, whereas even 1 resistance on an item in D4 makes the player consider trashing it.
Runewords basically make all other kinds of gear worthless. Plz no runewords.
Runewords were designed in mind to be “broken” they needed to have that power associated with the cost of the runes you were using.
Infinity Runeword required a Ber + Mal + Ber + Ist. The Ber runes alone are worth alot, But this Runeword came with the conviction Aura. If that Aura was not on it. You’d never make it.
Last Wish Runeword required Jah + Mal + Jah + Sur + Jah + Ber . Also Very very expensive, but has very good affixes.
There were quite alot of uniques in D2 that were useful, some more so in endgame, others earlier on. Mara’s, Shako, Hoz, Skullders, Magefist, Chance Gaurds, Tarn Helm, Tearhaunch, Gore Riders, War Travlers, Scarab sandshell trek, Occy, Eschutas, and the list continues. Which at the state D2 has more useful uniques than D4 has in the entire game currently.
I would say that is progress. Elemental Resist Affixes being required on gear is nothing but a stupid artificial gate. Elemental Resistances can and should work like they do on Jewelry and not take up any of the 4 available Affix spots. You should be able to reroll the Elemental Resistances even on the items so we do not end up with even more RNG.
The stupid comment about stacking Poison Resist for Duriel makes me extremely nervous they are going about Resistances the most ham-fisted and worst way possible. Stacking Resistances for certain dungeons or encounters is NOT fun. Especially given the limited inventory/stash space and no Loadout options. Carrying around crappier gear just because it has Poison Resist for a single Boss is extremely dumb.
So no one wants to wait for what they say on Oct 10th? Just gonna keep making these threads? Alright cool, though I think you’d have an easier time trying to talk a wall into falling over at this point. But hey, you do you.
I don’t think it needs a complete rework just steady tweaks and what not to get it to a better place. Maybe some affixes needs buffs, removal, or redesigns however.
Could you imagine these folks played WoW too, and are crying about patches, bandaids and stuff like that ha hahaha

No it definitely needs a complete rebuilding from the ground up. It is a spaghetti coded mess. The “tweaks” break other things. If the add things it’s additive to the spaghetti code. On top of it all the devs are clueless about arpgs and even more clueless about Diablo.

Fix for loot has to come from affixes themselves, not adding stuff on top
Here’s a simple example, find a bad Unique
Step 1: on elite kill => on CD use, on Barrier activation, on Overpower (whichever seems most appropriate for the fantasy of that item in particular)
Step 2: Shrine buff duration => Buff duration
Step 3: Poisoned/Burning/Bleeding => Suffering
Step 4: Damage vs Injured => Damage vs Elites
Step 5: +1 to a specific Passive => +1 to all Passives in that group
Step 6: Compare previous with new item
Step 7: You’re welcome…
The thing is - didn’t post this for the sake of saying Uniques aren’t bad, they are, but the reason why that happens is cause there is a round of those really situational/bad affixes that makes all loot bad (not just Uniques but all items affected) that has them rolled
That is only part of the problem. It’s not just itemization. It is also dungeon design, boss design, progression (the skill tree and the paragon board as well as quest rewards).
No trade. Those bits aren’t yours.

They also need to find the balance between grinding and chore.
It’s ok to grind to search for an item, but there should be some sense, once you’ve found it, that you can move on to focusing on the next item.
D4 has so many affixes that even if you get the item you want, you’ll never actually be done. Then you’ll have to farm for an aspect. Then you have to spend time managing your aspects, which hog inventory space.
What was wrong with the D3 system of legendaries having specific powers on them, and then them being universally extractable. Why did this system need to be more complicated and chore-like?
Ugh, here we go again…again. They already said they’re working on itemization and uniques are being overhauled. Campfire chat on the 10th will go into detail.
D3 system was a chore, ask all my seasonal characters that are stash banks, sorting loot was no fun in d3 either, its that design as a whole that sucks, collect trash, sell or mats trash, and never find anything good, unless you play a million hours a week.
I dont understand why people are hogging aspects, like you have your build, those are the ones you want to find and extract if they are better and print over or onto a rare upgrade, in which case the aspect sits in the aspects tab, i never fill this, we only have so many and at 100 i aint re-specing,
maybe you are playing in a different way, but i dont get it, its still grindy but less chore work than D3, needing to farm the bounties for mats to even extract the powers, f that noise.
This game will forever be terrible as long as items drop level requirement is always = to the level of the character that found it.
PTR Ladder Realm: No trading allowed + Seasonal Journey + Level Economy reset + Smart Loot + Unique Drop Rate increased by 1000% + 2000% Experience Boost + Ladder Rankings;
Eternal Realm: Allow trading similar to Last Epoch’s trading mode + Seasonal Journey (certain items and mechanics will become invalid at the end of each season) + Optional disabling of Smart Loot + Keep synchronized with ladder realm updates and drops + 500% Experience Boost + Complete rollback of duplicated gold and items (requires two or more program tracking mechanisms and extensive manual intervention with record tracing of specific items)!
There should be no interaction between these two modes because the player base for White Knight and a large number of casual players are different. Even when the seasonal journey ends, the ladder realm should not be transferred to the eternal realm!
Even if you make it as simple as the above, it won’t save the situation. Timing is crucial, and players won’t come back once they’ve given up. Who would wait for you to slowly fix things? Intentionally watering down the endgame content, weakening it for fun, while still making players pay for the software to act as testers – these two points alone are a game over.
Moreover, there are issues with equipment design experience, overall lack of fun, weak UI, limited storage space, and the complexity of organizing storage space.
In conclusion, it would be more honest for you to stop deceiving and simply announce this now:
1.Unconditional refunds (similar to what was done with Cyberpunk 2077).
2.Take the game off the market and spend 12 months reworking it from the ground up (similar to Final Fantasy 14’s A Realm Reborn).
3.After issuing refunds, keep the core of the game as-is and transition to a free-to-play mobile-style monetization model to improve the public perception (similar to Diablo: Immortal)!
I keep better aspects in case i find better gear to put them on.
Even if its rarely a noticeable change its still improving to a small extent.
Better gear has a better aspect waiting, what else is there to do in the game currently ?
