Blizzard showcases bugged BL Sorc and does a disservice to community. 😠

It doesn’t need a buff. It needs a complete redesign.

Agree minion builds are all sub standard. Yet to see a full minion build in new season from necro, druid, or sorc. Maybe the new spirit class is a summon based char?

Minions are set to only do 1/3 damage & whatnot of the player output which is absurd/severely underpowered. I fail to understand Blizzard’s utter disdain/hate towards Minions.

After the mass nerf fiasco of Patch 1.1, Blizzard has made it clear they won’t do a total rescale/mass nerf patch like that again. The backlash from the community was swift. However, don’t be surprised if BL sorc/HotA barb receive nerfs that properly balance them to be more in line with other builds when it comes to damage output. AoZ is temporary & likely a beta test for a future mechanic to be added into the game at a later date. More than likely the new mechanic will be added with the Vessel of Hatred expansion late next year…

Yeah man, they need to be much better at tuning their game. It’s not PTRed so there isn’t data that they can mine about these bugs.

I’m not sure how they go about testing or if they even do. Maybe it’s AI driven and the AI sucks.

Who knows, but I do know they failed twice…in a row.

Big brains in the community think it is possible to have 100 builds in the game all have within 1% survivability and damage as every other build in the game. They don’t realize how impossible that is and how bad the game would suck if everything was the same.

Lets see you build a model that accounts for the thousands if not millions of datapoints required to actually balance builds. For instance if you have a class that can teleport out of harms way every 5 seconds. How do you apply that to a formula that tries to balance defenses across builds? Does that teleport ability give a class 100% DR for say a second every 5 seconds equating to 20% DR? What if that teleport is completely useless for avoiding damage at some point. Well if the classes were balanced accounting for that DR during this new encounter that class would have 20% less DR than other classes. It is impossible to balance and the devs should be targetting fun to play not everyone having the same DR and damage.

What about 4 builds each character though?

What about 2 builds each character though?

Maybe u test it also?

That’s disappointing, but I think they should try just a little bit because:

Its not bugged

Six mo

bl is the most broken compilation in the game right now for everything (pve, pvp, bosses etc) it has gone from doing 5 m per hit to 20 m per hit, not to mention that you can put up infinite barriers and be immortal, the truth is that it sucks

It’s Not broken.

Are you serious man?

Blizzard is a gaming company. This is their job. This is what they are supposed to do and get it right.

They are the “professionals”. They are getting PAID to do this by millions.

I don’t want to go over what I do, but I do something at that level(affecting millions on an algorithmic level - we are engaged in AI in ways you won’t believe) in a couple other fields and if I screw up, I get replaced as a cog in this company.

Do people just make stuff up for fun? Blizzard has said on many occasions there is a bug with ball lightning which makes it so strong, simply one they don’t plan to fix this league. And the guy that did the AoZ showcase said during it that he used BL specifically because it is the strongest or one of the strongest builds in season 2 due to the bug and he wanted to show how difficult AoZ was even with that OP build. You hear what you want then cry on the forums about it is what they call insane in the mental health profession.

You know you are correct. This build will suck without the vamp powers, hell I don’t even want to use flickerstep because of the loss of mobility.

I can’t wait until this season is over, BL will be no more. Maybe Incinerate will take over as OP and you can all start complaining about another build you don’t play because your too busy crying over the new broken build or one that just synergizes well with the new season and everyone wants to claim it’s broken.

Ideally each class would have more than 2 builds yet that doesn’t matter the number of datapoints that need to be evaluated to actually balance every class is insane.

This testing would never end. It is far more productive to make classes fun first then adjust the outliers. Still after adjustments this expectation that everything is hyper balanced will not be met.

In order to have the balance that you desire the game would be homogenized. Homogenized RPGs are pretty terrible.

I build models for a fortune 50 company that dynamically assign performance metrics. Each warehouse or operation will have hundreds of employees, but the work that they perform impacts most of the people that live in the United States. Balancing classes with this many effects and considering all of the environmental impacts to those classes/abilities is insane in comparison. One thing about models though is that they are never correct.

Kaboom, I work with population health across multiple industries with direct or indirect exposure to over millions of patients - interfacing with fortune 500 companies on multiple levels, I agree with you - models aren’t perfect. This is why they need to test and test well.

This is the first day roll out, may need some retuning.

When has there been a perfect roll out for content for D4 at any time - bugs exploits and retuning occur all time.

They are delivering an IT product. Test, test, and more testing…go live…command / control stations … bug / exploit intervention policies / protocols…

P.S. If i run into someone who plays D4, I might think it’s you. LOL. Especially if you are into predictive modeling.

Now, if Elon would just join in the conversation, unless that’s you.

Sure I agree that there needs to be testing and I guarantee they aren’t just throwing crap at the playerbase on purpose. I think people just don’t realize how insane it would be to actually balance for all situations like people want. They can balance for a Patchwerk fight that has no mechanics for sure, but when you start having mobs with different abilities that fire at different times that require you to move etc… it just becomes impossible. After my experience in the field I tend to give people slack when I know how difficult of a task something like this is. To me if the classes are fun to play and are able to play the game effectively then it is successful in that regard at least.

they picked a popular build to showcase something? what a bad idea for blizzard to give us a real idea of the content.

sorry you lost me with that. What is bugged about BL ? they already said they gonna fix the “bugs” for season 3 and people better not get too used to a buggy setup.
