Blizzard, please stop introducing meta builds that you will nerf to oblivion in s5

So i am still a big fan of core skills over basic skill and this season Double swing and DD. Why would they even introduce such a build in the PTR and later on nerf them significantly. They are unable to perform in the pits no higher than tier 115. I’m hoping for PTR and S5 that they would adjust this power to overpower the basic skills. Core skills are so much fun and visually better to entertain.

Basic skill spam dominated Season 2. They weren’t nerf at all because Basic skill power was tied to vampire powers. For a whole year barbarians aren’t reliant on Core skills anymore since there’s other build that does or even outperform Core skill builds. You want to look at underperforming builds? Try Ultimate skill builds.

Core skills on Barb were still good in Season 2 though.

Build diversity am I right? There are options.

Sure, you might like to build around core skills but that doesn’t mean that I have to nor should that be the only way to play D4. There may not be a lot, but there is some build variety for barbs that are good at endgame, and I’m fine with that. For me, I liked making my own build, especially avoiding core skill meta builds which everyone and their grandma just copies.

Yep!

I’ve always been a huge fan of Basic builds. It’s my preference. All skills, for all classes, should be able to reach very similar power levels with the proper investment. It’s all about the build.

Every single skill in the game should be viable for all content with the proper build and investment, and they should all be able to have viable variants for different content.

the problem with this thinking is, it inevitably leads into “one button builds” just taking over the class again. For Barb especially, with the whole class fantasy of running around with an arsenal of weapons and having the “right tool for the job,” these one button builds something I’d really, really like to get away from.

They’d have to address 3 shouts taking up half of our available skill slots being mandatory for end game.

Hey now, some high end builds are only running two shouts (and using Iron Skin instead)

Or still 3 shouts AND Iron Skin, with basic skill removed completely
