Blizzard please rehire Max Scheifer, David Brevik, Bill Roper

Good lord, just get rid of 3/4 of your game development team and use that revenue you saved to put these guys in charge…

I really feel you just ride your Art department for the initial first impression of a game because your art team is amazing. But then when you get to the core of a game its just a hollow husk of what it should be…

You need to insert some fun back into this franchise with a REAL endgame loop

Also Matt Ulman (best Diablo music ever)

I’m in favor of it, but it’s not achievable. It’s just wishful thinking. :smiling_face_with_tear:
They have become too divided to fix it.

MS buys graybeard games and forces brevik to slave on d4 forever :imp:

Give them enough money and they’ll come back. I’d even start a kick starter for blizzard. I’m getting desperate want diablo 4 to be good but I know it wont be. That in itself is wishful thinking :frowning:

Hopefully wasn’t responsible for the last few or last one? torchlight bc they were awful

Any other big hits that former Blizz devs went off on their own to create? Ben Brode/Marvel Snap is the only one that comes to mind really for me.

Anyway, did you know D3 was originally envisioned as an MMO?

[Dave Brevik on the Original Diablo 3 MMO Design - PureDiablo](https://www.purediablo.com/dave-brevik-on-the-original-diablo-3-mmo-design)

"FLUX: can you tell us anything about what your plans were for Diablo III? What you wanted to change from Diablo II? What you wanted to expand upon? Just better, bigger?

MAX SCHAEFER: We wanted to make it a bigger… we actually were going a more MMO route with it. So, it had more players in the game. But, we were very early and it’s the point in a project where you don’t talk to the public about it because so much can change and so much can go on. There’s lots and lots of things that go on at game companies that never hit the light of day, because it’s just too early to really sit and things are subject to change all the time. So, we may have changed our own path radically had we kept going with it.

But, at the time our thinking was to go more MMO style with it. With big communities in-game, not just like a session-based – four-person or eight-person – or anything like that. But, to really make a big overworld and a giant shared community. "

This dev team has no integrity whatsoever.

The current people running the game clearly came in a bad situation and tried to salvage what they could. The results show how badly disjointed the game feels. A patchwork design that functions enough to work but not work well. Hence, all the bugs and errors people are experiencing as well as lack of end game content that’s worth even doing.

pretty accurate for sure. Good sumation

I think they just need to do what they can with the team they have.

And from what I played and seen, Torchlight ain’t all that.

Why would they want to work at Blizzard though?

Work experience maybe? They are notorious for low pay compared to the peers and they have earned the reputation of having perv management and being very clique based. Not sure how good it looks on a resume though since I don’t work in the tech field. Almost feel bad for them having to handle the game given how everything reportedly went down over years with both the game’s developement and blizzard in general.

Brevik said he’d never work with Blizzard again.
But maybe Microsoft??? Let’s make it happen!

If MSFT did this, the game would be an all time high seller on the hype alone.

D2 was lightning in a bottle. Right place, right time, right people, right culture, etc. This was all way back in the 90s and early 2000s when this stuff was created. Those people have changed and moved on. Though it would be nice of course to have some sort of reunion where they could give it another go. I don’t think Blizzard or the old Blizz North devs would go for it though.

I agree, apparently, the guy making calls, or the team is not playing their game, at least not barbs and sorcs … incompetent ppl , you guys killed the hype this game had, what happend? who you fired or who left…

Brevik couldn’t even run a gold mine licensed IP ARPG.
