“It’s so you can’t afk farm!” and “Minions were strong at level 20!”
We do need a move minion and attack target hot key. I assume the reason it’s not there because the game was designed with a controller and not keyboard in mind. It’s especially noticeable in legion raids when your minions are 3 screens away turning tricks for some goat man and some barb ends up pirouetting in and clearing the construct in 2 seconds.

Every single “Your/You …” or “Lucky hit” should apply to minions at their 30% as well. I think this should be higher or not seeing as everyone is saying the paragon board is broke. Especially things like hewed flesh. It would let us take something other than carve flesh skeletons. Or actually a build where your minions can do cool things.
Corpse tendril should activate immediately and slow after the stun instead of feeling like it’s doing nothing for 2 seconds.
Iron Maiden needs a +crit chance or vulnerability on it to make it worth while especially over Decrepify’s damage reduction and cool down feature.
Bone prison needs to let minions clip through it. I would also make the Ghastly Bone Prison talent make enemies at double the radius of the prison itself vulnerable too.
Kalan’s Edict needs to be healthy for 3 seconds instead of not hit for 3 seconds.
Drop Rathma’s Vigor down to 10 or 12 seconds.
Fixing resistances might fix skeletons vs fire bomb/ice blast/lightning rod elites. Those elites insta gib skeletons.
I’m sure I’ve thought of more but that’s all I remember for now.
Why does it feel like blizz is reinventing the wheel? Did they forget lessons learned?
I think the real answer is that necromancer is more of an after thought. Really poorly thought out skill, bonuses, minion ai is atrocious. They cant even fix our paragon board. The items in the store are fewer in number compared to other classes.
Honestly, id play witch doctor if it were available. And thats ridiculous that its not. Theres literally an entire witch doctor themed zone and major npc. I think the reason there is no WD may be the sqme reasons we hqve problems with necro- theyre inenvinting the wheel with minions and have no idea what to do.
Do they even playtest this stuff? Seems unlikely.
I may pause after i grind to 100 until they fix the issues. Probably in the paid dlc next year, as with d3.
Seems possible. Necro was the last class announced, and it only got announced after the internet lost its collective minds because there was “no summoner class”.
Nevermind that the druid had already been announced, and was a full on summoner in d2.
Hard disagree. Witch doctor is just a watered down necro. The only reason i ever played it in d3 was because necro wasnt an option at launch.
But even that doesnt matter because the demon hunter summon build was better than anything wd or necro brought to the table most of the time.
I’ve seen so many mobs running away from a source of dmg to cast spells from a safe space (blood magus are perfect example of that)… so these mobs have good AI but somehow my skeleton mages don’t. At this point i just want trade my mages skeletons for the blood magus i encounter
I’ve also seen many messages from people fearing that “if they up the summons then necro would be OP” isn’t that the point ? You spend all your precious skill points into your summons meaning you, as the player, expect to be able to progress into the adventure with summons that will do the work.
They insisted so much on the summon thing, even in their promo/their videos to introduce the class and yet when you play with them it’s underwhelming and exhausting
You can get extra skeletons on boots… I got it as a drop. Just because you can’t do it from the dungeon essence doesn’t mean it can’t drop.
Honestly i agree as well. If a summoner necro wasnt supposed to be a thing why give us the ability to build that way, we literally have a board for minions specifically and golems specifically.
Why give us the ability to level and grow as a summoner if that’s not what you wanted from us you know?
