What’s the point of farming for several weeks and fine-tuning a build when every damn time the endgame content requires a completely different one?
Season 2: hours and hours of farming to perfect a build and be ready for “Abattoir of Zir”, only to quickly realize that the damage, maximum armor and capped resistances were not enough to deal with a poorly crafted content.
Season 3: hours and hours of farming to perfect a build only to realize that we would have to face a speed race. So once again throw everything away and go back to farming to find the items suitable for the challenge.
If you’re wondering why people abandon Diablo IV, it’s because at the end of the season, in addition to bringing unfunny content, it isn’t designed to be suitable for the end of a long journey of farming and building a character.
So please wake up, use your loaf and don’t waste our time. Thanks!

gaming in general is a waste of time.

You assumed that the gauntlet was going to be something it was not. That is on you for trying to front run it with gear hunting. I know, it’s easy to blame everyone else for your mistake.

Think you meant unfun, not unfunny. Autocorrect fails again😁
You know what they say when you Assume… right?
Absolutely NONE of the end-game content in S3 requires some “completely different build”.
My Pulverize Druid has completed all S3 content with the same essential build I had in S2 (minor adjustments due to seasonal powers). Blizzard Sorc? Yup. Bone Spear/Summon Necro? Also checked. HotA Barb? Yup here too.
So I’m not sure what you are ranting about. If anything, this game’s “end-game” is far too forgiving and allows nearly any build to finish all the content.
If you’re talking about being top of ladder on the gauntlet… lol@u. That absolutely requires specific affixes to favor certain mechanics. Different goals use different abilities! Surprise!

You say you are perfecting your build for hours and hours, but what are you perfecting it for?
Clearly not the content you intend to run.
You must have known the gauntlet was a speed run event, so I’m not sure how you can be all shocked and sad that you’re in the wrong gear when you get there.
Due diligence my friend, if it’s important to you then do your homework before you get there.

Yep the devs said months ago it would be nm70 difficulty. So the only thing that mattered was speed.
Thr only thing that became useful or changed was shrine duration.

I don´t know what you are talking about.
I play all classes on every season, 1 build per class and I can do any game content.
I don´t even change a single piece gear and everything runs good.
Just do a good build.
This issue is exactly why we need that Armory loadout system like we have in D3.

Gaming should be a way to unwind, relax and forget the reality of working a 9-5 job.
Sadly, D4 wants to be that 9-5 job and then some.

I WISH I could feel just this. People whined about levelling so much that now, I can’t keep interest in the game because I hit 100 SO fast that I don’t even get to DREAM about getting the uniques I am after, etc before I just DING 100.
The game is always over before it really got started for me because they caved on people wanting to instantaneously level and add even more events for MORE levelling. Obviously, just me.

that’s like that for most game though.
PVE build : regular monsters and bossing, PVP build, Speed build , tanky build (for Aoz/T100 for example), glass cannon build (for lilith for example) etc…
everything require different type of build if you want to min max to do specific tasks

Personally I think D4 is lucky it still has people caring about it and wanting it to be a good game. D4 would die so quickly without people like OP that are invested in seeing it become a decent ARPG

Not even close.
D4 is super casual pick-up and play a bit whenever you feel like.
9-5 games are stuff like wow where you have weeklies, dailies, and a raid schedule 4 days a week from 7-10pm sharp, that you also need to stockpile consumables or world buffs for, plus unpaid overtime on progression nights. It’s literally an unpaid job lol (fun for a bit I admit).
its only a waste of time when you dont have fun which is the case for d4 i guess

Yeah I got that with elderscrolls online, so I know where you’re coming from
I’m more saying D4 wants in that slot, not is that slot.
As it stands, there’s not enough to keep me engaged with it, and what there is, isn’t what I’m looking for.
PoE isn’t what I’m looking for either.
Thinking about bringing out inquisitive martyr for giggles.
