I wouldn’t say you missed anything worth catching. I would have been better off not seeing it. I miss when you could see the author of a thread before opening it.
Pretty sure I’ve warned this demanding community about that. Many changes have happened in D4 where the outcome was a clear downgrade.
all i know is i still won’t buy the battle pass.
already dinged me for almost 200 bucks with the base game and expansion.
blah.
i mean its clear that “demanded changes” to the battlepass would lead to blizzard trying to figure how it could benefit them. i mean heck, its their monetization.
Of course.
But I point out to other “demanded” changes like
- Resists having no value. Blizzard Solution: nerf Armor
- Armor overcapping too complex. Blizzard Solution: make Armor braindead simple.
- Ultimates dping too much damage. Blizzard Solution: Cap Rank 5 abilities
…and I can go on.
My favorite is still from assos actually “We need better itemiztation!” we get loot 2.0 → Assos “the prior itemization was good for me!”
Of course all of this is followed by, “they dont listen to the community”
oh how i wish they wouldnt listen to the community by now
Yeah, people are already pretty angry about it, its the most popular thread on reddit right now, hopefully the community pushback makes them change this.
Change happen when they lose money… pushback doesn’t mean much.
brother, the game was expensive af, and I could drop a truck of arguments over your head here, so I will make short of it: you aint gonna understand, you dont want to, but I have a feeling that you will have a hard time (most probably your sons after you)
cya
Well… you bought the Ultimate edition? Willingly? I mean, that’s on you. Otherwise, D4 pricing is in line with other AAA games.
When changes to the battlepass were announced you had to expect it would be to benefit revenue and not the player. Their long-term strategy is short-term profit.
Players have been treated like fools and the game a disgrace since release. This is the modern live service continuing revenue model. Nothing will change. I highly recommend moving on as myself and many others have done.
I didnt buy the ultimate not in the base game, neither expansion, the price is for AAA, but this game is not a AAA, not in north american, not in south americe, neither in china!
“Moving on” seems to be getting used pretty loosely here. When i moved on from my ex, i didn’t keep checking in and talking about her and running a broken record of everything she did wrong and continues to do wrong. When i moved on from bad games, i didn’t haunt their spaces in the web to keep talking about how bad they are.
It’s a process. Everyone grieves in their own way.
You’re not wrong OP, it’s just a straight scam. I hope enough people vote with their wallet that they reverse the change. Unfortunately that’s quite unlikely…but I know I’m not getting battle pass anymore, that’s for sure.
Blizz didn’t mention this in the roadmap, because its a roadmap to ppl quittin D4.
then make your point clear by not buyin the pass.
not happy dont buy. how hard is this?
I have come from the year 2023 to tell you the option was always thereeeeeeeee………
I never take the “I’m taking my ball (wallet) and going home!” rhetoric too seriously, just because people usually cave pretty easily, but I did just have a thought.
These changes to the platinum returns have not been communicated to the normies whatsoever, and I’d say they’re the great majority of the total playerbase. Many of them will purchase the battlepass automatically when the season begins, only to realize in the coming days and weeks that they’re not getting 500 of the platinum they expected.
Do you guys think there’s any chance that might actually produce a problem for Blizz? Or do you guys think that those people are so lackadaisical about their approach to the game (and spending of money within it) that they’ll just go unfazed?
Personally, I could see it becoming a serious issue in a few weeks, or being a complete nothingburger where hardly any of them even notice or care.
