Why is this not a thing already? My friend is already playing a subpar build with summons, and he’s literally unable to hit a neutral objective for like 30 seconds because of dungeon trash. I’m more mad for him than he is for himself.
This is a basic hotkey in other ARPGs, please add it.
I don’t have many complaints about D4 so far, but this is one of the changes I really do wonder about. D3’s “Command Skeletons” pointed them at a target. D4’s Golem actives all do the same, causing the golem to rush your target then use whatever ability their type has. D4’s “Raise Skeleton” already targets a random corpse nearby when everything is summoned, so why not have it mark a focus target, as well as pop a corpse nearby for the current effects, effectively combining the functionality like the Golem active does?
It is done in Grim Dawn, although it is not perfect. You can control your minions to a certain degree. Golems are fine in D4. Skeletons eh you have to rely on them being away from things that cause huge amounts of damage, which mages are fairly good at but normal skeletons not so much. I suppose that is why we have skills to allow us to replace them quickly and heal them fast provided the corpses are around. You just have to plan your build well and as far as I know do not use them on world bosses once we end up taking them on. Sacrifice is there for a reason unless blizzard does something about their AI, but they are skeletons so…yea…cannon fodder in the end.
Yes, but this isn’t D2’s hordes. This is much closer to D3’s “elites” style of summoning. And trust me, I wish it was the former, I miss having an army, but I guess that’d be too problematic for an MMO-style setup.
But yeah, considering the focus target system is still in place, just for the Golems, I don’t see why they couldn’t add it to Raise Skeleton as well.
True, but D3 skeletons were not well doe. Minion need to be able to be destroyed and be useful at the same time. Diablo has never had that. In D4 at least mages are good and are beneficial, the idiot skeletons can be good until you hit certain bosses or even worse elites. Where I stand mages are fine, golems are fine but I guess they could hit harder, skeletons are fine sometimes but are idiots given we have no real control over them. I would never want D3 skeletons back either way.
During one of the beta patches they actually added a command thing that was datamined, no idea if/when it will make it live. It’s listed under the book of the dead in https://lothrik.github.io/diablo4-build-calc/database/

They do have a similar hot key for the Necro Golems abilities, and let me tell you-- IT IS HORRID!!!
If you tell your Golem to attack a location if that space is occupied by any other model the Golem will just run endlessly in circles and not attack. On boss fights its almost not worth having a Golem because bosses are so massive the Golem cant use their skills.
yep, we NEED this, any event where there are like 5 elites, the skele’s become useless coz there is like 2 on each one and it does nothing… and elites that spawn adds or especially walls, are insanely aggrivating… the skele’s all just hitting random barricades, LMAO!
See this is just frustrating cause it was obviously in the game at some point and then modified out. This should be an automatic skill for summon necros. This ability would also make this build somewhat more viable in pvp too. As it stands now most of the pvp attacks come when we are already fighting mobs and our skellies are occupied. Being able to redirect them into a single target would be a game changer. Obviously this would have its pve advantages as well.
D4 golem does only one attack at the target you point to and then goes attacking a random other mob… its not that benefisial, i hoped it would stay on that target, but it doesn’t.
