Blizzard, If you Nerf Anything, You need to Nerf the Butcher

Thats right i said it, even at lvl 52, with a Moderately decent geared Rogue, i have had The Butcher kill me 9 times, in 48 hours, and im honestly sick of the fact i cant get him passed half his life until he bootstomps me into the ground, all your Nerfs, all your BS to really anger your player base, the Butcher is the one merFer you need to Nerf the most. im tired of being his punching bag and not really standing a chance against him, its bulls**t,

Since the first beta, its been over 25 times he’s killed me, im sick of it

Save your unstoppable skill for when he stuns you.

Don’t run unless you can dodge the hook he throws or it’ll stun you again.

Evade thru him sometimes if its a close fight he will turn around instantly but it stops him winding up his melee a bit. I’ve even partially broken his ai doing that a few times espcially in tunnels or caves. He seems to loose you somehow and starts running around not attacking.

Make sure you have siphoning strikes on btw in your skills.

killed him once on early lvls… But on nm30 + is for me impossible… no way to cc him and mostly focusing me not my minions… and minions zero dmg… So 3 hits and i am dead…

So right now if see him i know its zero chance…

in my eyes zero chance and challenge is different.

yea, im running a Poison Flurry Rogue, and ive only ever gotten him down to Half life, once time i got him down to a 1/4, but even evading and shadow stepping he still stomps he into oblivion, its just ridiculous the amount of damage he does,

I too have been absolutely roflstomped by butcher at a variety of levels. One day I will get him though. I just keep telling myself that.

I have no problem with the Butcher. If you can break a stun and do average damage then should be just fine. Now on the other hand you take a couple of those hornets tossing little bees at me and I die every time, go figure.

I play a flurry rogue and ever since I hit WT4, Butcher has been a very comfortable facetank. You need to get more defenses on your character.

I am recently having a funny back and forth with good ol’ butcher on my Necro.

Played until 60 without meeting him once and then he suddenly started appearing every other NM Dungeon.

The first time he took me by surprise and hooked me into a group of mobs while my Bloodmist was on cooldown.

Just 2 dungeons later I got revenge and two-tapped him with fully boosted Bone Spears.
Then he got me again because I didn’t quickly kill him before he got his Barrier up.
Since then I am mostly winning and he even dropped me a Deathless Visage.

I think it’s nice that he isn’t a complete pushover.
After all he was extremely scary in Diablo 1 as well and they somewhat managed to capture the feeling of terror you experienced while being chased by him through the dungeon.

this is the worst thing that can happen to you, get the exploding lightning stone + you get cced inside the wind/icewall while the butcher is pounding you!

The Butcher became old very quickly, especially on my second character. I encounter him all the time, which is weird because I almost never see him on my Barbarian. However, my Necro Twink encounters him constantly, and it’s so annoying.

In the early game, facing him was a death sentence, so I would just take my hand off my mouse and keyboard and let him kill me. There was no point in kiting him for minutes; letting him kill me was far quicker and more efficient in getting rid of him. He literally made the leveling experience even more unfun and annoying.

Later, with more gear, he’s no longer a problem but rather a nuisance that slows down my progress through the dungeon.

Nothing wrong with the butcher, he killed me twice as I was leveling. He’s died every time after that.

He doesn’t seem to be a problem. I just face tank him on druid. The thing I see most players do wrong is just stack dmg with 0 survivability. This isnt d3, stuff aint timed you can complete a NM 100 even if takes an hour. If you have the defence nothing in the game can actually hurt you with fortify, barriers and hp regen.

The Butcher shouldn’t be in NM dungeons. I’m fresh into WT4 and he’s a guaranteed waste of one of my four revives.

Twisting Blades Rogue level 82 @ 40NMs I can just face tank him. Not sure how tough it is when @ 100.

Your chest and Legs should be full defensive. Damage reduction, skulls in jewerly.

I use the Icyveins Twisting Blades build. It works much better than the last Maxroll setup I tried. No disrespect to them.

**He smoked me in earlier levels due to me not having the right gear. You may just need to grind more then you’ll laugh when you see him.

Butcher made the mistake of running into my Barb… then the Butcher made like a treasure goblin and ran away from me through 3 different rooms…

I mean I can kinda see what you’re saying about the butcher, cause I got him in my first WT4 dungeon and I was level 58 doing NM 21s. He basically one shot me. Seems like you’re just under-geared. Otherwise, it just sounds like you’re bad. He’s a joke once you start out gearing the content tier. I think the Butcher is a cool and spooky feature that gives you the choice of running to the entrance or fighting him to the death.

yeah, butcher is a good indicator of your current build/gear. I like that. If you struggle it tells you theres an issue with your setup.
