Blizzard ice spikes 1h vs 2h weapon

Hi
Afaik the build relies solely on the spike dmg from the glacial aspect so isnt it better to have it on a 2h weapon for x2 dmg

On the maxroll build guide they use a 1h weapon and have it on amulet for x1,5 dmg

What am i missing here ?

Also what would be a good level of the aspect (spike dmg) at character lvl 90 is considered good

İ am thinking of swithcing

2H speed is slower to cast.

Ammy generally best because get buff while still retaining the ability to get two more remaining aspects on wand and off hand.

Agree. Theres 20% cooldown, 7% crit, resource gen/luckyhit/costreduc ect. in addition to the 15% lucky hit on the wand, not to mention faster attack speed.

All sorc has in paragon, and 95% of what the dev team adds to the game, is some kind of usually conditional damage. 2h isnt worth considering to me, not untill theres a funtionality based aspect that gets silly with that 2x.

the whole math concept for 2hander over amulet is broken down in a simple thing like

700 aspect X 3000 % dmg augmention = 2.1 million dmg

1400 aspect X 2970 % dmg augment = 4milly+

the extra perk for 30 % more dmg isnt worth a higher baseline to start the calc dmg

try it on a 2hander, your mana regen cant keep up with the 1hander speed to chain cast anyways. and just getting attack speed on gloves is enough to counter the slower speed. the raw CC dmg augment that staff has also is another dmg aug that you dont get with 1 hander combo

1 cast can clear a elite pack in T100, while its 2.5 casts to clear them with a 1hander combo so the faster casting doesnt math up well when you gotta do it twice to kill … and slows you down while after you have casted you can just run to the next area instead of waiting for the 2.5 casts to kill what would already be dead

Yup. Switching to a strong glacial aspect on a 2h was night and day for me. Everything just died quicker.

You people saying 2h is better it’s not that simple, since you put it on amulet it’s only .25 less damage than the staff, not half, and since you get a new aspect slot, you can put a 2 or 30% damage multiplier… the extra damage are the stats on the staff, but you cast faster with 1 hander, and at least for content that doesn’t die in one hit, casting faster is the go to for ice spikes, as stacking is how the big damage comes all this assuming you dont have mana problema, ( also 1h let’s you get more mana reduction and resource generation) the cooldown reduction alone if you use tibaults, gives you more uptime on the 40% damage…
I use both setups. Carry an amulet with blizzard and another with a damage aspect, and a staff, I sometimes use the blizzard amulet with the Uber staff ( great for vaults) … and all setups do good, but as painful as it is because I don’t like the loooks of it, the 1h and focus feels the best overal, you have your cds more often ready to use, you move faster, you cast 3 blizzards in the time the staff does 2, so they do similar damage…. Just so as I do, and carry 2 extra items when you feel you want a change in pace…
Edit: focus gets you 7.5 Croat chance also…

You’re right. Sandain has spoken and he is absolutely correct. Dont know why you are calling him a prophet though.

Aren’t conceited or storm swell multiplicative tho? Also u can slot in fist of fate of you don’t use 2h for more damage increase. That said, Sandain’s fomula is wrong if Blizzard does it right.
Also u really don’t need 2x damage in nmd 100 for now. Everything died instantly anyway
