I am really tired of this game… Why do I have to be a cookie cutter spec to be viable?? If I can’t play the game the way I want, spec’d the way I want, then what is the point??
Blizzard!! Fix this or lose my money!! WOW has the same issue!! In fact WOW is worse because of your stupid season thing you all implemented… NEWS FLASH!!! GETTING PEOPLE TO DO THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN IS NOT CONTENT!!! Be it the PIT, Nightmares, Mythics, Raids, get it?? The only game that doesn’t have these issues is overwatch, but you all have been trashing that game since OWL went bye bye!!!

Every skill should have had atleast 2 uniques to boost that skill in fun ways like the frozen orb unique, should have been in the game since launch… now we get like 1 good unique for a random build per season
I play the game the way I want every time I turn it on. I am not sure what problem you are having, but it sure sounds like you are mad about it for some reason.
Cookie cutter… you mean like picking one skill, maybe a generator thrown in, and 4 supporting skills? Yeah, the entire game is designed like that. That’s pretty much every build, because the skill system in place limits how many you can invest 5/5 in. Then you add in Aspects and Tempers, and there’s not really much room for 2 mainline skills.
I realize you did but I literally can’t think of a single build that does use a generator along with a spender so saying “maybe” I think isn’t correct because it isn’t used since the addition of Essence Per Second was brought into the game w/ s4.
Maybe there is a Rogue build that focuses on both a generator and spender as key components?

Oh - I also use a generator on my Bone Spear/Summon Necro because I nab 20% DR on it and some multipliers. So there’s another.
Bone Splinters/Bone Spear/Blood Mist/Decrepify/Bone Storm/Priest
Uses Ring of Mendeln and the proc (scales off your Physical damage). The only thing that would make it really pop is if it scaled off Summon Damage instead. Permanent uptime on Bone Storm. Clears 132.
Good for you. Pulverize Druid absolutely uses one. So does my Bone Spear/Summon Necro.
So what is your point? Are you trying to advertise that you can’t read or lack understanding of what I wrote? The thread is about so-called cookie-cutter builds - and my point is they all are due to how skills are designed. No build uses two generators or two spenders that are 5/5 in the tree; which is what I stated.
You’re probably in the minority there. Bone Spear, even before Essence Per Second was a stat, used zero generator as quickly as possible. Obviously Bone Spear has fallen out of favor for Necro with Blight, Minion, and Bone Spirit all overperforming it but I’d assume that the standard build is still on a zero generator system since you need/want - Blood Mist, Decrepify, Corpse Tendril, and Bone Storm for the build. Since basically every Necro build wants to proc the corpse usage paragon then you’d have Corpse Explosion to trigger the 50%x multiplier as relying on just corpse tendril would make the multiplier almost useless to proc since it’s downtime would be so high
