Blizzard just can’t stop out doing themselves, their ability to innovate and come up with never before seen ideas is unmatched. I’m so excited for season 8 when they add these never seen before treasure goblin variants. I just don’t know how they come up with this stuff but it’s probably galaxy brain related. I think we can all agree that what D4 is really missing is a bunch of random garbage on the ground to sift through and these treasure goblins will help fill that void.
Rumor has it the old “friend” that’s coming back in season 8 is Tomb Lord.
Um… these Treasure Goblins are part of the event, and will be integrated into the base game after the event is over. I’m not sure why you thought it was a S8 gimmick only. They are quite literally in the game as we speak. The only thing worse than no information is wrong information.
From March 4, 10 a.m. PST—March 11, 10 a.m. PDT , a variety of Goblins are wreaking havoc across Sanctuary through every town and hovel.
Remember, these new Goblin variants will stay across all Realms after March of the Goblins has ended but the best time to hunt them is now!
Eh, I think the broader point is that, while a goblin event might be interesting, the end game of D4 is still pretty boring for the vast majority of people. Player base has dropped, streaming has dropped, and gamers have moved on to games like POE2. Few people have fun getting rushed into end game to level up glyphs, do a bit of masterworking, and kill bosses in 0.2 seconds instead of 0.5 seconds. The end game is repetitive and monotonous without anything of meaning to work towards. I’m sympathetic to the critical feedback as someone that has played Diablo games since before many people on this forum were born.
I’m not arguing against this, only your false information in your initial post is all. They are not part of S8, however they will be present in the game after the event.
Who asked for goblin variants in all honesty lol, is there a post on the forums asking for that? It’s better than the same old goblin event at least some look different. The loot mostly doesn’t matter at this point in the season
Quite a few actually. Urza made a whole post about it back in the day for his ideas on the types of goblins they could add. I even threw in an idea for a goblin that could drop any in-game cosmetic (not the bought ones) until you had them all. Similar to the Menagerist goblin in D3 with the pets you could obtain.
It’s permanent content added to the game that is identical to D3 instead of being creative and doing something different… and not different like D3 you have timed greater rifts where you level up gems and D4 you have timed dungeons where you level up glyphs.
Sir our conversation is over, I’m not arguing against your problems with the goblin variants, only against misinformation. I wish you well and have a nice day.
