Blizzard today mentioned in their stream the game engine and now it’s really starting to make sense why people are having really bad stuttering issues, stutter on dodging, open world traversal stutters, etc etc.
Instead of Unreal, Unity, Crytek, or something along those lines, Blizzard took the radical step of designing and building Diablo IV using a legacy MS-Office product
Honestly the game runs like complete garbage for me unless I limit it to 60 fps, I have seen so many threads here and on reddit about the terrible performance and now it’s coming together and making sense why the game runs so poorly.

Is this true? If so, that is beyond insane.

Blizzard devs confirm the game engine, no wonder the game runs terribly
What does that sentence even mean?
Which “ms office product” do you think is their engine?
Tell me you know nothing about software without telling me.
I have a very good pc with a 4080 and D4 runs really bad.
FPS can be really high, but the stuttering etc… its so unenjoyable.
Well this explains it.
That seems like a terrible decision they made there?

If you think MS office has a game engine in their package, you need to stop swallowing dishwasher tablets.

I’ve played flight simulator in excel
Not sure I’d call excel the engine though.
ITT you don’t get the joke.
What? Stop spreading BS sarcasm aside D4 runs on a proprietary engine developed in house it’s more than likely a modified OW engine.
This is what I want to know. I can build games in old Windows Office stuff?
Is this some sort of take on using Powerpoint slides when doing a presentation?

It was a joke?
Honestly, with the world as it is, I usually mistake sheer stupdity and sarcasm.
I guess, in this 1% case, the legacy office thing was sarcasm?
I am pretty sure they did not opt for some MS-Office Engine or whatever you think and this is the first time hearing about performance issues. You got to upgrade your computer or have a better understanding as to what you’re running, because when I’m travelling, I run this game on a 6 year old gaming laptop and it runs smooth with 60fps on medium settings.
