Blizzard dev warned you in advance not to expect outstanding quality work on the level of Larian Studios

All of you complaining, the Blizzard dev warned you their work was going to disappoint you all, so you really can’t say you didn’t see this comming. They made the S1 patch extra bad beyond normal expectations to really drive home that point lol. So guys please, next time dont complain, they laid it out on the table of what to expect on any future project and work. Anything after this is on you lol.

bro I’ve played n64 games made by a dozen people that are amazing how did Activision spend so much money to produce such little of note??

i can only guess all their money went on marketing and skimped out on talent lol.

This year I learned to never trust AAA companies.

The patch brought some balance changes, some players are mad, but nerfs were needed. Im happy with the scalling changes.

your opinion is garbage

Translation: Please take a goliath poop in my mouth, daddy Blizzard. You can do no wrong ever. Mhhhmmmmm.

Good lord, man. Get it together.

thats all you got? lol you copying Blizzard’s mediocrity?

You’re not good at this.

Diablo 4 is on record for the most units sold by any game at Activision-Blizzard. It’s no secret how they accomplished this.

Activision-Blizzard is a better marketing company than they are a game development company. They got their money from you, so now they’re in **** you mode.

And because Actiblizz is so good at marketing, there won’t be much of an impact on their overall reputation as well since the forum is a confined space (I’m waiting for the day they remove or hide the link to the forums :P). So media’s just gonna sit there and say “XY dropped Patch X, it’s nice” ^^

No, that is not what they said. They were talking the scope and scale of RPGs and not to expect BG3 to be a norm. It was also dozens of other devs not just 1 guy from Blizzard.

The Microsoft acquisition is right around the corner. Season 1 is dead and I won’t even bother playing one second of this horrible failure. If you don’t know why Season 1 is a solid 0/10 failure, just watch someone with a lot of experience explain you the patch note. There is so much multiplication going on which result in nerfs which make other nerfs even worse.

The summary of Season 1 is ALL damage is nerfed like 50 %, all armor is nerfed like 50 % and all classes got class nerfs that make everything worse. There is so much more, but this is the best summary without going into detail why it is like this.

For me it’s now doing something else until Baldur’s Gate 3 and Starfield hit.

BUT, there is one hype announcement. You can use your “Season Token” you bought with the Deluxe Edition use for other Seasons. If this is true, then there is at least one piece of something in a pile of trash.
Also, maybe in future Seasons after Microsoft took over, maybe, Blizzard is finally able to come close to Larian and Baldur’s Gate 3 with Diablo 4. Blizzard is only like 10 times as large as Larian. You can’t expect this small indi company to compete against Larian.

What i said was a bit tongue in check, but they might as well have meant it that way because thats exactly what everyone is getting. And i know other devs mentioned it, i just singled Blizzard out because they are most relevant to the topic and had just come out with a patch.

Source for that claim because WoW has easily has gotten close to 200M accounts by now and many were units sold.

I don’t think anyone is upset about popular builds from Diablo 2 & 3 becoming top tier for season 1. This game has bigger problems like being more repetitive than a 20 year old game and not being rewarding enough. There is no iconic set items or loot because that would have compete with their cosmetic store. This game might as well not even have loot.

No, because that was not what was meant at all from that article. Did you even bother to read it? You ate just projecting your own opinion.

https ://www.cnbc .com/2023/06/14/diablo-iv-666-million-in-sales-breaks-blizzard-record.html#:~:text=Tech-,Diablo%20IV%20crosses%20%24666%20million%20in%20sales%20in%20five,a%20record%20for%20Activision’s%20Blizzard&text=Diablo%20IV%20did%20%24666%20million,inflection%20point%20for%20the%20company

Maybe it was just the amount of sales in the period of time.

i already addressed this, you’re repeating your post dude.

Name me an ARPG that isn’t repetitve nor feels it.

Like seriously. They are all the same. Kill stuff for loot, or currency used for loot, or character progression. It doesn’t really matter if it done in an open field, a dungeon, changing maps, a PvP or boss rush arena, it’s all the same repetitive stuff from game to game. They all become boring adter a little while
