“Uh oh. Guys. Druids have a fun decently poweful build in Stormslide. We better gut it!!!” - proceeds to get out the nerf bat, beat the Druid to a bloody pulp with it, and then urinate on his unconscious body.

Meanwhile, the sweet summer child Spiritborn which is Druid 2.0 and is better attuned to nature apparently, is doing literally 1 trillion damage in some builds. And that’s fine somehow.

Why would I ever bother getting ANY cosmetics for my main favorite class from the store in this state?

lulz. Although you are not wrong, this also isn’t news. All combinations of Melee Druid have been rubbish since launch. Caster builds are hit or miss every season, never consistent. I check back every ~1/2 year or so, but there’s no point griping about it. Druid will not change in time for anyone to care.
