Ah yes, the new Craft Mythic Unique system—just when I thought things couldn’t get worse. Sure, it uses fewer Sparks now, but who decided to add Runes? Like, seriously, some of these Runes are rarer than a unicorn sighting. Combine that with a Mythic Unique drop rate so low it’s practically subterranean, and you’ve got a recipe for boredom. Blizzard, how about making crafting fun instead of a scavenger hunt from hell? We don’t want to feel like we’re grinding for air!
Runes make trading mandatory if you want to get your build up by the end of the year - they should think about adding a rune exchange.
Ensuring that all runes drop for every player would be beneficial, as some runes seem to never drop for me. Additionally, the introduction of a rune exchange marketplace could help prevent exorbitant prices.
If you have a stack of 3 for any rune you’re not targeting you can always reforge them at the jeweler which then randomly creates one rune (with the hopes of it being the rune you’re targeting). The odds are low but I surprisingly did okay with it.
They ruined mythic craft completely. it’s easier to get mythic (that is useless now) than find the desired rune. I dropped season on level 200 and I’ve got one mythic and zero lith runes.
Sparks and thus mythic now useless, as the boss farming.
There are rumors that Kurast UC gives runes, but I’ve got only rares (with tribute).
So yeah, Blizzard made their game much worse with DLC release.
You need to have the opal buff going to increase your chances of runes dropping but even with that the amount of lith you’ll need won’t ever come through drops - that’s why trading has pretty much become mandatory if you’re targeting a specific mythic.
I managed to get the runes for Starless with lucky drops and reforging, except… the magic ones, I have only one of those. The most common tier of rune doesn’t seem to drop on T4. Same for the tribute that awards them. Seems I need to go farm on lower difficulty Ridiculous.
The “lith” doesn’t drop for me either. Now I’m questioning whether it drops at all.
Sell your other runes and buy your Lith from another player. After many many UC rune runs with no luck I gave up and broke the bank, buying 5 Lith. Now I’m poor but have my Tyraels.
Hmm… sounds like runewords from D2
Surprisingly as long as you are on T1 you still have the same odds as T4 just in higher levels you get more drops.
Thats exactly what it is.
So we’re forced into trading?
If that’s how the game is going I’ll probably quit.
I like the idea. You can always do the random mythic which I have and each time it works…
Considering in previous seasons there was no crafting for Mythics, so Blizz changing this couple seasons ago did wonders. Good clans help each other with runes so I have found very little trouble crafting the mythics i want.
D4 needs a AH. Or SSF vs AH mode like in LE.
Meanwhile i haveonly found 2 mythics since the launch of d4. Paragon 180 and 0 mythics this season so far… lol
The ultra-zoomers and streamers will always have their Mythics. Everyone else, probably not anymore. Which is a shame; in season 5 I had to level several characters for faction but got the pay-off. Now that isn’t a thing.
Not going to play the “rune-swap-game” in Trade chat. Nope.
We can summarise it:
The new crafting system is rubbish!
Previously, even if you were unlucky and/or didn’t have the gear for dozens of overbosses, you could just do the (green) seasonal journey and use four sparks to craft EXACTLY the Mysthic you wanted.
Was easily possible for anyone with a little time.
Now you have two options:
- waste two sparks and 50 million gold to get the item you want with an 11% chance. (And we know the Blizzard maths, so even with infinite sparks and gold you’re not guaranteed to get the item you want).
- you use real money to buy the runes that nobody can get in sufficient numbers on their own. Trading in the game doesn’t work because everyone wants the exact same rune.
In fact, there are no other options!
With Paragon 230, I only have one Lith and two Eom runes, even though I’ve also done targeted tributes in the Undercity and used the opals.
My chances of being able to make a crown or Tyraels this season are therefore somewhere between winning the lottery and flipping a coin that remains on the edge.
Of the five Mysthics I’ve found so far, two were the same and all three were not only useless for the Spiritborn, but completely useless because of the new scrap system.
Some days I struggle to walk and chew gum at the same time and I was able to sell, barter, and craft my way to a shroud this morning. If you want to craft a mythic you need to use the resources available to you - if you don’t, that’s okay too.
Because crafting runes is so random, and farming them is even more random, crafting a targeted mythic is simply going to put all players at the mercy of RNGesus.
Not a fun thing to try and rely on.
