Blizz - you cannot nerf Bash mid season

UPDATE – nothing to see here, BLIZZ has now confirmed that Bash isnt changing! YES!!

It’s a sure fire way for people to quit the game, it’s just too deflating to even go again.

You do understand that you have mechanics/systems like Temper and Masterworking, which people have literally sunk in insane amount of time rerolling/refarming for build specific affixes. It’s all a throw away now with this nerf.

Secondly – bash barb, compared to other builds, arent overperforming unreasonably to a point where we are 20 pits levels above all other builds. It’s not even the best build in the game for Pit pushing. So, why bother even nerfing and causing this outrage?

Thirdly, so what’s next, you will be nerfing Victimize? And then, you will be nerfing Golems? By that same logic, should we avoid playing these builds knowing that it’s one patch away from breaking these builds.

You see the issue here – you are setting a precedent that anything that is powerful, it’s potentially next on the nerf chopping block and we should refrain in committing/investing time in these builds.

UPDATE – it looks like the latest patch notes isnt accurate with regards to Bash. More to come once we hear it directly from Blizz.

Yeah like what are they even thinking nerfing a build that is good but not the best?
I understand if it would be too strong or using exploit but damn why??

They should be fixing all of the bugs, but if you’re worried about Barb being singled out, do have hope that the other classes may just be undocumented nerfs, something Blizzard patch note writers simply love to do.

They finally make the game good and then they nerf barb when other classes and builds are performing better. The decision making is insane to me. I’m done….again lol

what’s the point of investing time into a game, when for all we know we could be wasting our time due to “BUGS” and “BUG fixing”…

And they leave minions + holy bolt interaction. Are these devs missing halves of their brains?

Literal monkeys.

By that logic what’s the point of spending any time playing Seasons when it just resets?

The answer will vary depending on who you ask?

I’m playing a bash barb and didn’t realize this was bug. But if it’s a bug then it deserves fixing. My DPS is going to nosedive though.

Minion necromancer is so overpowered and strong with so little effort it’s not even fun, and they are nerfing … OTHER specs?

but y tho.

It’s real silly when people say things like this.

If the Season reset after 1.5 weeks then hardly anyone would play it.

Player: “But you cant do that!”
Blizzard: “Hold my beer”

They can nerf Bash. They should nerf bash. I am still surprised they dared to do it.

And yeah, nerf Necro Minions etc. too.

That’s a sidestep answer.

Look, we’re a playing a game where we know there will be constant changes. Sometimes mid-season.

It’s not like there aren’t multiple effective builds per class. And you got at least 4 scrolls of amnesia from the seasonal stuff.

I am literally on a new barb right now because I was gonna play bash lmao. I didn’t hear about whatever nerfs it was gonna get though. Guessing the range on the aoe or the damage of the aoe is gonna be gutted?

Yeah ive already uninstalled again after seeing this. feel like i just had the last nearly 2 weeks of my time robbed from me. Meanwhile Golem-Cro + Bolts and Victimize Double Dip are allowed to persist. Definitely doesn’t compel me to even consider buy the supposed $70 D4 expansion this fall, and at this point, i wont be, im not into paying money to have my time wasted, if i wanted that id play gacha games. oh well. it is what it is i guess.

If you invested this season playing a minion build, and lets see them nerf Necros to where minion damage does the same damage as season 3. Then what? That’s considered normal gameplay for Diablo? or did you just waste time playing this season as a necro?

So you’re implying that every player is done with their build in 1.5 weeks?

That’s not very realistic.

Besides. If they’re going to nerf something in a 3+ month season, I’d rather they do it now than 2 months into it.

The damage was bugged so it’s being fixed. My barb damage will probably drop to roughly 1/3 or 1/6 of what it was.

Why is that? You didn’t enjoy what you were doing over those 2 weeks? Why did you do it in the first place, then?

It doesn’t take that much effort to swap builds. Or level another character of the same or a different class.

Nerfing the dmg does not have to result in a return to S3.

Only issue with Blizzard nerfing stuff is that they do it so slowly. These nerfs should have happened within days of S4. So people would have spent less time on these builds, in case they want to change to something else.
But even if the nerfs are late, they should keep coming. Better late than never.
