BLIZZ UPDATE : frame generation NVDIA 4000 SERIES

did the recent update fix 4000 series frame generation?

Have a 4070 TI, always has run D4 at 120 ultra. Never even knew this was an issue…

previous hotfix patch notes idicate, 4000 series are experiencing performance issue, so they disabled it. Not sure if they fix it on todays hotfix

my laptop doesnt even have 4070, i have a 3070ti laptop so its more in line of a 3060 desktop if even that, and even i am at about 120 all the time, i dont think anyone actually need the frame generation until they turn on ray tracing, which is kind of stupid in this kind of game…the mess during combat wont allow you to see all that ray tracing anyways unless you are paying very close attention to it…

You are correct, zoomers should leave ray tracing off, They don’t really care about the graphics anyway. For those of us playing the game instead of gaming the play ray tracing is nice.

like i said you are pretty much lying to yourself if you think ray tracing makes a noticible difference in graphic for diablo 4

if you were playing other games like spiderman, sure thing id absolutely turn it on, not in diablo 4 lol

theres hardly any difference especially when you are fighting a horde of mobs theres no way you will see the difference.

Disappointed the hotfix hasn’t re-enabled Frame Generation though, the game was running perfectly fine on my 4080 super, hoping it comes back soon to re-enable ray tracing.

Yeah I turned it off. The graphical fidelity gain you get from RT doesn’t justify almost 40-50% decline in performance.
RT isn’t worth it by that metric, but in certain games it at least makes a noticeble difference.

edit :
As for frame gen I had it on the entire time and game was locked @ 120 fps, very smooth on 1440p ultra.
Now without it I play around 100-110 fps. Still decent but I prefer to have it on for higher fps and lower gpu load.

im experiencing the same problem. my fps dropped after frame generation was disabled from previous patch. now they say they fixed some visual problems but not sure if that includes NVIDIA 4000series , can anyone confirm? as my fps is still clonky after todays patch
