Blizz has to take action - Gold and Trading

Out of curiosity I checked out the Sanctuary discord. Before I stopped (mostly) playing, I did a bit of trading there, selling and buying. For me, the limit for a buy was ~100mil. I just wouldn’t spend more than that no matter what. Most items were < 10 mil. I’d sell for roughly the same range outside of a few very special pieces I didn’t really need or want for bonespear that went for a little more.

Now I see rings that would have been 70mil-80mil just a couple of weeks ago going for 1b-4b. Worse, I can’t even go capitalize on this with a stash full of some decent rares because I’m super worried I’d end up banned for trading for illicit gold. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t go back to trading there as I lack the gold (despite having a LOT of gold from prior trading).

Doesn’t impact me much now, as I’m not really playing, but for everyone else, Blizzard needs to act. What they can’t do:

  • Destroy gold in people’s accounts. You can’t separate the good from the bad here. That’s just not going to work.
  • Give everyone gold. Will just result in hyper inflation.

What they can do:

  • Disable trading
  • Remove re-roll costs from the Occulist
  • Improve frequency of high-rolls / truncate roll ranges for rares

-OR-

  • Stop banning people who trade an item for gold, no matter the item or gold amount. (This would unfortunately enable a lot of RMT, but it would give legit players a way to live in the inflated environment and still trade).

Right now, players are either going self-found, exploiting, throwing caution to the wind trading in this environment, or buying gold.

no trading, zero, none
Generally speaking, IMO, those who gnaw and gnash teeth at the thought of no trading either buy or sell RMT.
I may just play the new solo only mode for D3 season 29

Why do you think No Trading is a good Thing to do? Without Trading many people will instantly Stop playing the Game. It does Not make Sense to disallow Trading because for most people ITS the only content

Yeah they should not ban for selling. They messed up and the gold eco system is broken. It will be fixed on season two since we will get a reset.

Trade right now is a high risk of ban activity, and you’re going to need to sell an item at the insanely inflated price (coming from exploited gold) before you can buy anything. So trading is already effectively dead unless you’re participating in the exploit even indirectly.

They should keep trade enabled only if they publicly state no one is getting banned for selling items for gold, no matter the item or gold quantity. It would be a tacit endorsement of RMT as a result, but it’s the only way to keep it active and still safe for legit players.

Oh I think I got banned because of borrowing 20 m gold from a friend. I was wondering why i got banned

I wouldn’t let someone buy/give anything to me right now. Hundreds of trillions of gold from exploits floating around the economy.

whats your name in the sanctuary discord? itd make sense to doublecheck if you taded there a lot =)

I have no worries. I stopped playing well before things got strange/exploity, and wont’ be participating in the market as it is until something is done, even if a patch brings me back to the game. Just not worth the risk of account action.

Don’t worry, soon they will just ban everyone and the problem will be solved.

It’s funny to watch the gold buyers, bot farmers, and gold dupers get banned.

I like watching cheaters get what they deserve.

I’m so glad Blizzard finally is cracking down on these people. I imagine many of them come from WOW and thought nothing would happen to them like in WOW.

Disable gold for items trading and make trading like d2, items for items

Uh, the economy is in shambles. They are not winning this battle right now. They are losing, terribly.

No one cares if cheaters and gold buyers are mad.

They can buy the game again or go play something else. You know, like WOW.

And figuratively cutting down swaths of their own innocent customers in the process. Apparently the term “friendly fire” means nothing to them.

I’m not sure you are even in the same discussion. Cheaters and exploiters are thrilled right now. They are winning. Trillions of gold exploited into the economy. The only people hurt are legit players who want to trade.

Their accounts are being closed bud. Not sure you are understanding what is happening.

Gold buyers get banned in D4.

This isn’t WOW.

Not even close to enough. The economy is ruined, right now. If they had their accounts closed, trade would be back to normal. It’s not. And the gold has absolutely now spread to innocents, who played and traded legitimately for astronomical sums.

Its funny watching potatoes like you think blizz actually COULD crack down on this. They have 0 CONTROL , but your just here to troll as usual. Ignore Singularity hes just a knight of blizz.

There are literally threads with gold buyers crying on the front page of this forum.

You don’t understand what is going on.

They are getting banned. The D4 guys ban way more than WOW ever did.
