I get it, seasons can help keep it fresh and get players coming back to the game. But please consider adding more reason to play eternal realms. This was a big downside for me with D3 - gearing up a character for 3 months only to trash it for the next season and do all the same content + 1-2 new things all over again. I don’t dislike seasons, but I’d love to have a reason to play eternal.
It really is simple, if I enjoy my ROG i’d like to try out different builds, Barrage, Rapid Fire, Twisted blades etc, but with no features to Save a build and paragon points it takes eons to respec. I’d like to better be able to enjoy content some times as ranged, sometimes as melee without having to level 2X 100 levels to have on of each.
Armoury for gear and Paragons and Skills without the millions in gold and time
If you don’t care so much about the Vampiric powers and story that goes with them, Eternal currently has everything that Seasonal can offer, from a gameplay perspective.
That’s a trend that’s likely to continue as seasons move forward. So you’re not really missing out on much given that the story for the season will take about 1-2 hours to complete.
If you don’t understand yet, nobody here will be able to explain it. They totally crapped on Eternal and, like PvP, I doubt they care to ever address it for the lifetime of the game.
The eternal realm is getting a lot this season. New bosses, working resistances, better XP track, rebalanced classes, new legendaries, new uniques, new uber uniques, less garbo drops, revised gemstone system, revised enemy levels, working mounts, target farming for uniques, shorter world event timers, and revised enemy loot drop system. Sure I forgot something.
Just no vampire powers, vampire helltide, or vampire story.
Personally planning to tool around with eternal characters first to see what changed and if it affects my builds.
The problem, though, is that characters are built on those seasonal mechanics and items, and current “meta” stats…when it’s changed, it doesn’t carry over like you said. So you have a level 100 min-maxed character that is mostly useless. It’s easier to start over…which you normally wouldn’t do on eternal.
Unless you suggest fully and ONLY playing eternal, which would be insanely boring after a while.
Just log on and try eternal right now post-patch. You will not suffer from any lack of power you will find…it’s pretty face roll easy even with 800IP items.
They won’t. They can’t push payed battle pass on you there…this is literally what they want. To sell battle passes…nothing else really matters in any way shape or form. As long as people keep playing seasons they don’t care.
What’s the point of doing the level grind in Seasons? Story mode gets skipped, renown gets carried over? Literally all of the season loot is in eternal? But if I want to play in the season realm without changing my class or build/character I have to basically clone it manually and then relevel him without my gear that is farmed forever? Gear that will just get replaced with the new season gear?
So why not just let folks on eternal have the same experience and save seasons for actual ladders?
Why exactly should Eternal be excluded from that content though? If I don’t want to restart my character every 3 months and play on an eternal character, I should still have the right to enjoy the new content. For those who want to restart and challenge against the community every season, they can choose to do that as well. In D3 the seasonal content was still available to Eternal players…
Even the Season is barely worth playing. I’m like 8 minutes in and already I feel like I’ve done this all before and nothing about it feels unique or encouraging me to re-create my 3rd character.
I can’t see how they are going to make Eternal more engaging when starting fresh is mundane.
Because it’s temporary content which, at least so far, has been designed around breaking the base game mechanics and power levels. Leaving it in the base game would cause too many issues.
Down the road I can see some of it being retuned and added in a different form. That’s how some other games do it.
The “eternal realm” is where seasonal heroes go to die. I still can’t believe they wouldn’t at least let me keep those useless caged hearts… They’re worried about what? Balance? In the realm where no one will play?
