Blank Screen at start up

Worked fine yesterday. I just get a blank screen with music at startup. I’ve tried the following things:

1. Update your graphics drivers:

  • Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer (NVIDIA or AMD) and download the latest drivers for your specific model.
  • Install the drivers and restart your computer.

2. Verify game files:

  • Open the Battle.net launcher.
  • Select Diablo IV from the list of games.
  • Click on the Options button.
  • Select Scan and Repair.
  • Wait for the scan and repair process to complete.

3. Disable fullscreen optimization:

  • Right-click on the Diablo IV shortcut on your desktop.
  • Select Properties.
  • Go to the Compatibility tab.
  • Check the box next to Disable fullscreen optimizations.
  • Click Apply and OK.

4. Rename the LocalPrefs.txt file:

  • Navigate to the Diablo IV installation directory.
  • Find the LocalPrefs.txt file and rename it to LocalPrefs.old.
  • Launch the game. A new LocalPrefs.txt file will be created.

5. Update your operating system:

  • Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date with the latest updates.

6. Check your display settings:

  • Make sure your display resolution and refresh rate are set correctly.
  • Try changing your display settings to a different resolution or refresh rate.

7. Disable any conflicting software:

  • Temporarily disable any overlay software like Discord or GeForce Experience.
  • Close any background applications that may be interfering with Diablo IV.

8. Reinstall Diablo IV:

  • Uninstall Diablo IV from your computer.
  • Delete any remaining Diablo IV files or folders.
  • Reinstall Diablo IV from the Battle.net launcher.

Did anything change yesterday? Any new software, any updates?

Have you tried a Windowed mode?

You can force one using this command in the Command Line Arguments for the game’s settings under Battlenet.

Hit the gear cog next to the play button, then settings, then look for the Command Line arguments and enable it (checkmark)

Once the box appears, put in this command:

-windowed

Then apply/save/close settings and try to launch the game again and see if you get a Windowed option with the same behavior or not.

Something had to change in order for this to occur.

Can you try to provide a copy of your FenrisDebug file (latest) from when this occurs? You can use pastebin.com to share the file, just copy the contents of it, paste it there, and create a new paste, then provide the URL they assign it, so we can review it.
