Heya,

A couple seasons ago I posted what was considered an anomaly of mathematical impossibility, I may have it beat.

I am NOT a fan of tempering, I do also play PoE, and I am well aware of the very high end crafting/bricking scenarios involved.

While I am not a streamer or doing 150 level pits, I am far from a casual player (retired/plenty of time/135+ pits).

My current build is a WW barb for fast pit runs (111/2-3 min’s), and I’ve been working on the usual 12/12 blacksmithing after some horrific tempering RNG.

I have blown through 20,000 mats trying to get to the 3 levels of casting twice, and while I can get the 1st go round well enough, EVERY SINGLE TIME on the 2nd level, I get beserking, NOTHING else.

The improbabilty/impossibilty of this (seemingly) just has me wanting to question wtf is REALLY going on? I’ve read of the craziness of RNG with tempering or blacksmithing this season, but this is getting beyond the realm of acceptable to me. (to be clear, this is 20k+ of neathiron, which is quite a few days of farming)

Also, every piece that I have that is 12/12 on the barb has a 3rd level that was a “fail”, EVERY piece. Doesn’t break the build for the intended purpose, but my min/max playstyle along with my OCD tendencies…just feeds into a great deal of frustration.

To say I HATE tempering and blacksmithing is nowhere near how disappointed I am they haven’t addressed this considering the level of contempt there is out there. I think it’s shown me how little they value MY time, MY enjoyment, to have these time sinks that they’ve thrown up since release.

Tired of the hampster wheel, and since I’ve been playing these games longer than 99% of the folks out there, the coming at me with the usual cavalcade of bs doesn’t apply.

Having done the usual tour of PTR and seen the crap show that s5 was as expected with the B team, I’m going to get a refund on expansion and sit back and see what they come up with.

The problem is they sold the systems as crafting instead of advanced enchanting.

Player: I want +skill crafted
Blacksmith: Woops best I can do is max hp. Better luck next time. That will be 5 million gold.

Finally got 3 GA pants. Cost was 15B on dtrade. Int armor life.

Rolled 3x heal
Rolled 3x warmth

Just knew in my bones it was going to happen
Another :brick: and I only had 3 choices to hit flame shield duration.

Immediately quit to play Sun Haven.

No see you are looking at this all wrong. The frustration that drives you back to Wraeclast is what is supposed to make you remain in Sanctuary to perfect your gear.

You just need to drink the Blizz kool-aid and receive your paradigm shift.

This. I have tried over and over and personally NEVER rolled flame shield duration… What really are the chances? Why is this not transparent?

That’s just it. It’s not 1 chance out of 3 or 4 or 5. It’s random n chance out of the sum total of the weighted values of each item for that temper manual.

Considering some of the bricks I’ve made, it’s like additional weights are applied if you already have one such selection masterworked. No wonder they’re giving you an achievement if you masterworked the same affix 3 time.
