My in-game screen frequently turns black. I do not know what causes this bug. I could be talking to an NPC, in the middle of fighting mobs, or just walking around and the screen will fully envelop to black. The only way to fix this bug is by fully restarting the game.
But this is a consistent bug that has happened to me every single time I log in for a game session. I have to fully restart the game EVERY TIME the bug takes over.
Have you tried just opening a full-screen menu like the map or the graphics settings screen? I am also having this issue where the screen gets fully enveloped in black on an unpredictable basis and have found that opening a full screen menu (or, weirdly one time, getting off my horse?) fixes it. I haven’t yet had to quit the entire game to fix it.
What card are you running? Undervolting or overclocking it? Wondering if there’s any other similarity in our setups.
Yeah, I have done those things where opening a full screen menu fixes it temporarily but the bug will just pop up again at some point.
I am running a 3060ti undervolted.
Yeah, so I am running an undervolted 3080 and de-tuning my undervolt slightly has made the problem go away. So if you’re running close to your stability limit as tested in other games/benchmarks, I’d say back off on the undervolt slightly and see if that fixes it. Worked for me!
