Big suggestions for redesigning theory crafting and game improvements (Low hanging fruits)

Hello I have been playing D4 every season since season zero and I have low hanging fruit ideas that will massively improve the D4 experience if implemented in the second expansion*

First thing is we need more stash tabs. How hard would it be to add 4 more stash tabs? We currently have a maximum of six, lets add 4 more to make an even 10. The community will be jumping up in joy. It’s unfortunate that we have to wait so long for this and beg.

The next thing is a rework on legions and world bosses. I went deep into this on another post so I won’t go deep into it here. please check out that other post.

The third thing which is the most important thing is that I would suggest that a large number of passive skills on all the skill trees and legendary aspects which are currently class exclusive be available for all classes and on all skill trees. the theory crafters will go wild and give thumbs up to Blizzard for fixing their “skill twigs”.

Here is a list of all the passive skills which I recommend by class.

Warpath
Imposing presence
Martial Vigor
Belligerence
Outburst
Tough as nails (change bleed to DoT)
Quick impulses
No mercy
Slaying strike

Unliving energy (changed to resource)
Imperfectly balanced (changed to resource)
Necrotic fortitude
Titan’s fall
Precision decay
Death’s approach
Gruesome mending
coalesced blood
finality

Stutter step
sturdy
siphoning strike
Rugged
Reactive defense
Unstable elixirs
Trick assault
Balestra
Malice
Deadeye
Alchemist’s fortune
Aftermath (energy changed to resource)
Unto dawn
Innervation (energy changed to resource0
Haste (energy changed to resource)

Abundance
predatory instinct
Backlash (add Macabre and mobility)
Neurotoxin (Poisoning changed to affected by DoT)
Defensive posture
Thick hide
Unrestrained
Elemental dominance
Potent warding
Glass cannon
Elemental attunement (add macabre)
Dampen layer
Align the elements
Protection
Mana shield (changed to resource)
primordial binding
Icy touch
Evocation

Vigorous (Vigor changed to resource)
Velocity
Mirage
unrestrained power
swift
Resolution
Spiritual attunement (vigor changed to resource)
initiative
sustenance

Any and all of these can and should be added to all skill trees on all classes. Some might disagree but this will create more harmony between classes, add build diversity, build options, theory crafting, enable builds, etc.

I would do a similar thing with legendary aspects but I don’t want to make the post too long. Thank you.

*Some of these ideas would be easy for the devs to implement but the changes to the game would be so fundamental that I wouldn’t recommend implementing them outside of a major expansion.

I disagree. Passives should be unique to each class. This is how it is in every ARPG. This is what distinguishes a barbarian from a rogue.

I know we have few builds and few unique items. But this suggestion does not solve the problem. Get more model frames, improve itemization by making more specific items, more unique items, change the rare nodes, improve all the systems

This has been answered why they can’t right now so many times, yet here we are asking again… Sure, nothing can happen with so many passives… Hard no for me.

I appreciate the effort you’ve made in this post but unfortunately i disagree with everything in it….apart from stash space which blizzard has addressed multiple times:

I do like the effort though.

Theory crafting just one of the relevant use cases to support this request.

What’s in the way is legacy stash code that needs a rework imo for space, duping and vram issues to progress.

Many of these changes would be good. Some I disagree.

The elephant in the room here is the only thing Mediocrity Rod wants to improve is revenue. Anything else is done with that in mind.

You see D4 as a game. He sees it as a means to generate revenue. Big difference.

It is good to want to improve the D4 experience and provide suggestions. The reality is unless it adds to the bottom line it is very unlikely to happen.

It’s going to be hard. As in game changing levels of ridiculously hard. The reason is the D4 stash is a cut and paste of the D3 stash. Why that’s a problem is because for the game to display characters to each other requires every stash tab be accessed by every player in the same zone. And D4 doubled the number of players from 4 to 8 so basically had to cut the stash in half to get around the performance hit. It’ll take a complete redesign of the stash system which they claim to be working on but who knows when it’ll drop.

They’re trying to figure out why so many things are broken in World Boss encounters. Hopefully we’ll hear about what they’ve planned to fix on the 24th at the next Developer Stream. But in general you’re right. Legion events and World Bosses are basically wastes of time. But the same can be said for most of the overworld apart from Helltides and some amount of Whisper farming.

And no… the problem with the passive skills and aspects aren’t that they’re unique to each class. It’s that 90% of them are worthless and only serve to proc some effect on certain items or paragon nodes. Add in the whole “over capped” nonsense… like getting Fireball to rank 30 with multiple gear boosts… means that unless a skill or passive has several items to boost the skill then next to nobody will want to use it.

If they make a good game then the sales will come. There’s a saying in Holywod, don’t talk about money. Obviously a film needs to bring in money. It’s obvious so you don’t need to bring it up. It’s just business. Video games just like films cost money to make and need to bring in revenue for the company to even justify its existence. However make a good game that people want to play and the game will sell itself. D4 is already a profitable game that earned back its investment. Rod however has a long term vision for the game that spans the next decade so I know as well as anyone else that the only way for D4 to be relevant for the next ten years is to be a good game, evolve, improve, grow, adapt, and compete. A year from now nobody will be logging into seasons to buy micro transactions for a game they already have 1,000 hours in if nothing improves over time.

This is something Mediocrity Rod doesn’t get or chooses to ignore.

In their minds they make more giving you a low-cost piece of junk to make a quick sale than to invest in making a good product people will want and the benefits that would provide.

This is why we get a new broken build every season. Why they nerf last seasons broken build. Why they give us renamed, reused copy/paste content. They give us “new” copied content when fixing skills and items get ignored for several seasons.

The whole system is manipulated by parlor tricks to get the sale before you realize how much it sucks. Decades old used car sales tactics. We can post suggestions until we are blue in the face. They will never happen unless it fits the narrative.

I would prefer the devs fixing all the bugs and skills that still don’t work correctly. They are so busy trying to add new stuff that the core problems with the game never get fixed.

So-called new content generate sales. Fixing current issues is too costly for the return.

Guess which one we get?

New things will come with more bugs and unwanted interactions, oh and don’t worry they will disappear at the end of the season
