Best first Mythic for barb?

Which mythic should i craft if i have to choose one?

Currently playing upheaval on Torment II but willing to switch if i have to in order to struggle through T4.

Is Doombringer the choice because it works in most builds, or should i go for shroud or something else?

So mighty throw barb is the only current build you will have any fun in T4.

It uses four mythics you can find on the MaxRoll build website. Upheaval has been C-F class from the get go so I would abandon that ASAP.

Shako, Tyrael’s, Starless, and Grandfather are almost mandatory for any barb build.

Perdition and Shroud are currently used for Mighty Throw, and Doombringer is used for any Overpower or Thorns build for the life.

Shako and/or Tyrael’s will give you the tankiness needed to go up torment levels. Starless is a big QoL and damage boost. Go with one of those three first.

From the guy who pushed pit tier 114-115 (his name is beat dropper on YouTube) he said starless sky to solve resources, perdition helm for damage, shroud or doom last depending on if you want damage (shroud) or defense. I took his advice and my mighty throw barb feels pretty cracked. If spirtborn didn’t exist lol

Only problem is having nothing else than mighty throw and most builds needing really strict requirements even to be able to perform well in T3.

Starless or Tyraels would be my vote for Upheaval. Are you trying to use Unbridled and Lucion’s? Do you have survivability issues? Are you trying to use Unbridled/Lucion’s/Banished Lords with Sundered/Earthstriker etc. for constant Overpowers?

For me, Tyrael’s made the biggest difference as that is the only real way to raise your survivability and is a huge boon to switch off Tempers from Elemental Resists to Max HP etc.

I’m playing with upheaval currently on pit 77. I use perdition, shroud, doombringer and grandfather. I would choose shroud to be my first mythic.

But my advice to you is to switch to other build unless you really like upheaval like me.

I so badly wanted to like Upheaval but the animations and hit boxes always let me down.

You need absurd IAS for it not to feel bad. The problem is Furious Upheaval is the only decent Skill Upgrade and it forces you to swap between Upheaval and another damage source frequently rather than spamming the Skill. It makes gameplay awkward and choppy.

I agree with you on the hitbox also. At 100% Upheaval Size, it should be a 180 degree arc allowing you to hit enemies on either side of you as well instead of a little longer range and cone.
