Best Bash Build for S4

Hey All! I am a casual player and this season was the first season I actually got a character to 100 and doing a lot that I never thought I would experience. One of the other things I wanted to experience was making a 2nd character during a season. I heard the Bash build was pretty great this season.

When I was doing research, I haven’t really come across the best builds for it though. Like on maxroll I saw their Bash build but then have seen others use a little different type build. Like some say to use HotA too or some use that chain thing that pulls people in. Which is better?

So I am hoping if someone can help me with what the fotm bash build is. Hoping to get 2 lvl 100 characters in 1 season. Just a personal goal.

Thank you all for your help!

I am using the rob builds.

Currently using the “Pit farm” paragon board and skills

I did my own bash build. Very simple approach.

  • I temper bash cleave on all weapons.
  • Rings get attack speed/crit chance & crit damage.
  • Amulet gets crit chance and skill ranks (of whatever you prefer).
  • Gloves (if not using paingorger) gets attack speed, crit damage and crit chance
  • all other gear is just life/str/whatever fuels your other skills that’s not bash.
  • weapons are all the same: life/str/crit dmg
  • skills: Bash/Charge/Wrath of the Berserker/Challenging Shout/War Cry/Rallying Cry.

I focus on crit damage & berserk with a lot of attack speed and just face tank everything.
I cleared pit 101 easily today and I don’t have any great gear or anything (but obviously highly masterworked). it’s a very simple, easy way to play (for now).

Of course, you can go much higher DPS if you specialize and do all sorts of fancy things, but my build cleared all tormented bosses and lilith with little difficulty. No need for fancy stuff to achieve those things. Have fun and mix/match whatever playstyle you prefer. That Bash Cleave will carry anything

What is the goal for the build?

I find Rob’s guide to to be good. If you have ubers, the original ‘CN Bleed’ build is very fast for clearing 100-110 for farming. Even the rupture is good to help speed up the clear times and Selig without Tyreal’s is enough to just ignore all boss mechanics.

@ Draknalor - That is perfect! Thank you  That was actually the build I saw some people use but it was via streaming and I forgot all that they used but that looks like it.

Thank you!

Looking to do everything I can do now. So my goal is to hit 100 and see how high I can go in the Pit and NMDs etc. I am not expecting to go 100+ pit but just to see how I can get with this second character.

Also, Is Rob’s guides that d4builds dot gg site?

Indeed.

I used maxroll before, but they are just weird in season 4 and does not seem to be as good as rob.

People use the “Chain thing” to apply vulnerable status.
I use Rend to apply bleed status as well.
I also use Rob’s build.

Yes but there are various versions within the Bash tab.

If you are plaing plain bash, i suggest to swap crit affixes to vuln. Vuln scales with Paingorgers unlike crit.

I do not use Paingorgers currently. I find that Charging into enemies does enough damage to make quick work out of them. I will however put that on the list to experiment with (after I finish messing around with my new Flay barb)

Thank you everyone for the info and tips! I appreciate it!

Recently switch to Bash from WW, just want to ask season bash player about the secondary temper for weapon and accessories.

I usually see player temper “dmg to close” or “dmg when beserking”. I currently have dmg to close on 4 weapon and dmg while beserk on all accessories.

Question:

  1. is it better to just keep 1 type and temper on the gears or better to mix it like i currently have?

  2. If it is better as a single type, is close dmg better or dmg when besek better?

Thanks in advance

Temper Bash Cleaves.

”Bash cleaves” is the temper for bash on all items.

Make sure you check out the thing i linked above.

I use a modified version of Robs bash with Hota and chains (Hota pit mat farm).
Agree with maxroll being off this season. Some of the barb builds have flaws. Temper bash cleave anywhere you can. I also leveled a rogue in order to temper roll crit damage on most of my offensive slots instead of close damage. I changed a few paragon nodes from Rob to get more resists. I also focused more on stuns, stun durations, concussive strikes, etc to help with boss fights. The build currently can do speed runs on 105 pit in 4 mins without using holy bolts

You want to get to 300 damage with berserking to max out the blood rage legendary node after which close damage is better for the higher values.

But why? Berserk on its own has a 25x multiplier. Unless I am misunderstanding how berserk works.

I see, thank you & thanks everyone for your view and advice

Yes while berserking you deal x25% damage but why stop at 1 multiplier when you can have two x25% & x30% gives 62.5% total damage increase while berserking.
Or use it with Unconstrained and make it a 160% increase.
