It’s already the first d4 expansion and I’m kind of surprised we still don’t have a bear unique weapon. We’ve had two for werewolf since the game launched (Crone’s staff and the Gibbis axe) and the Fleshrender thingy too actually, so 3 werewolf uniques, but still no equivalent for bears.
Would be cool imo to have something like a bear version of Crone’s staff, probably a 2 handed hammer, that makes Maul actually useful and that you could make a build around.
Three uniques and still the worst thing in the game.
That would be cool!
But I would rather see them do more to move away from shifting a little. They have based the entire class around the shifting fantasy. You can’t do to much outside of that. Where’s the elemental fantasy? Or the pet fantasy? All of it is hindered unless you go shifting as well.
Totally agree with you about more Uniques.
The problem is that each class only gets 1 new unique per season. And about 2-3 generic uniques that everyone can use.
Although I agree werebear could use a unique weapon, atleast werebear has a unique chest and helm.
Summon Druid has Storms Companion that only affect 1 of the 3 current companions we have and it pidgeonholes you into a storm build. What about a physical build, but they are tagged as Nature magic?
Look at Spiritborns Uniques for example. Almost all of them are so openended, they can be used for a variety of different builds within the class.
Meanwhile all of the original classes have super specific, niche uniques that are just boring or lacking compared to Spiritborns.
This game and ARPG’s in general are all about Itemization, and we are getting 1 new unique per class every 3 months. That is downright abysmal.
We should be getting a MINIMUM of 3 new uniques per class, per season, PLUS a few generic uniques that every class can use.
Meanwhile PoE is putting in 20+ new uniques every 3 months, on top of everything else that comes with a league.
The Game Director seriously needs to realize this ASAP, Joe Shelly didn’t and I have a feeling the new one (assuming there’s only 1 game director, Joe must have stepped down) is following right in his footsteps and is unaware of what ARPG’s are actually about.
Yeah, the pet builds are kind of messy.
Wolves have werewolf, storm and poison (rabies) synergy.
Worm have poison and earth synergy
Raven have storm synergy.
So either raven or worm will be left behind depending on your build.
And the worm poison isn’t usable if you go rabies rage build, and can’t use the wolves without two legendaries.
